OK heres the deal. I stump worked a pair of wings then sandwiched it between some angelina fibre and put the iron to it. Everything was going famously . I finished the critter, put his collar on and .........aaarrggghhh!!!
the fibre is coming away from the wire and the other fibre on the other side.
Can I glue it. Will it work? I'm running out of time. I was hoping to post him out tomorrow.
WHAT CAN i DO TO RESCUE MY WEE BABY?????????

Oh no.  I'd try glue BUT I would try it on a bit not attached to your bear to make sure it doesnt do anything nasty.

I would probably paint it with some watered down pva glue Wendy....I can't guarantee this though as
i've never done it!! Good Luck!!

OK!!! the results of PVA (white glue) on angelina wings. 
It partially worked.  The wing that was fine  after painting with watered PVA gave it more strength and is still OK.
The damaged wing ,the PVA was only a little bit successful. Where it wasnt damaged it worked a treat.  It did glue at least 1/2 of the fibres that were coming apart. I will give it another go this morning and I do believe I will have success.  (I'm touching would right now)
I gather that if I had painted them with the PVA after they were first made. I may not be having this problem now.  Sometime in the New Year I will have to read up on this angelina stuff and see how I can add the wire to the wings successfully.
Sigh..... he wont be getting posted out today.........

Wendy---in regards to the angelina fiber---was that all your wing was made of?  A wire frame and the angeline fiber?  Because if so, you can basically iron the angelina fibers OVER the frame, if I'm making any sense.  Sandwiching 'em wouldn't've worked verily well because if you don't get 'em heated together in the center, they will slide off one another and shift, so it's best to work with one layer.

My suggestion would be to lay the angelina fibers down surrounding the wing and overlapping it.  Then, on the very outside edge of the wire, put your iron to that and meld the fibers together, making certain you do it thoroughly and leaving kind of a fluff of unmelted fibers atop the melted strip.

Next, take the melted strip and FOLD it over the top of the wire, and take the unmelted fluff and anchor it to the other Angelina fibers on the rest of the wing.  Then you can iron the entire wing for good measure.

Basically what you are doing is forming the pattern around the wire frame, and when you melt it together it won't slip because it's tight over the frame, virtually impossible to move.  If you work with TWO layers, instead of folding a layer into itself, it won't melt together evenly.

Can you not just place the wing frame sandwiched between two layers of Angelina, cover the whole thing with white parchment paper or plain white paper and press it? When cool cut around the outside of the wings leaving a tiny area uncut close to the frame

Wendy, I jusr reread your query. I missed something on the first read-through. You worked the wings in stumpwork? Aren't they rather 3 dimensional now? The Angelina will bond by heating to itself but not to other materials.

Can you use a 40 or 42 felting needle and work some of the fibers into the wings? Then you could place the shimmer & sparkle exactly where you want it and exactly how much you want showing. Just  a thought.

If you glue the spidery-web of it on, it will all sit on the surface. It just depends on your personal vision of what you think would look best on your wings.

Bobbie, brilliant alternative rescues. Thankyou.    I didnt realise that Angelina wouldnt bond with anything but itself.
The glue job worked but I would have prefered to have got it right the first time. 
It didnt  occur to me to felt it. Even though I did add some angelina to the needled felted face.
Its pretty too. All sparkly
