I am usually a early shopper but got behind this year, and just finished up this morning, still have a few gifts to wrap but I have it all under control. Think I will relax & fix myself a apple martini. They are really good!
Hoping to finish up tonight!!! ( then on to the wrapping!!!
)
1 to get, and then just a few stocking fillers for the littlies.
Now I can concentrate on the food to get, my waist (what waist she says ) is getting bigger just thinking about it .......
I was a 'nonevent' this year Technically financial setbacks this year meant I'd already looked at Christmas and made my huge cuts. Pressies were out, so I settled for as many nice Christmas cards as I could instead.
The people who mean the most to me understand 2006 hasn't been kind to me, and they love me no matter what. The little cards I sent along was simply my way of acknowledging how much they really mean in my life. Even if I couldn't have sent those, I'm sure they would know anyway
Personally, I think that's what's really at the heart of Christmas....the simple expression that even if its not the perfect gift, or that the card didn't come out right...you still love them.
I'm done I'm done.... that is a real shock...
woohoo only the fresh veges to get.

I know what you mean, one year I was really low on funds, so I spent about $40 and baked up tons of cookies and candies and fixed all my friends and family little xmas goody bags, they all loved them! I will always remember how much fun I had that xmas doing all of that baking.
This is the first year ever that I am done shopping and wrapping! while I admit it's a great feeling and alot less stress to be done early, I 'm sure this year is a fluke and next year I'll be crazed again ! lol.

We got the last of our gifts today. I still have two things I can't find, but they may end up as gift certificates - I'm shopped out.
Hugs,
Brenda
I always think I'm done until I get to wrapping and realize that either I missed someone or bought our nephew more than I did our neice which would cause a big whining fit.....
So tonight I'm doing some online shopping... I'll be done in about 1/2 an hour!
I'm DONE!!!!!!!!
I feel soo very proud of myself......lol
I save the wrapping for the night before xmas, guess it's just a tradition I have. Helps get me into the mood.
We've decided to keep things simple this year, after all the fuss with getting married. Last year we went all out and I fell it was unnecessary, so this year we've kept it simple. I have to admit, simple is good, and I ordered alot on-line.
Got 2 of the most wonderfull tote bags from LL bean for my mom and grandma. Now I want one! I hate that....lol
can't believe xmas is in one week.........time sure flys by.
Yay, I'm done and it's all wrapped. Big, huge struggle, though.
Me? Finished? Ha!   This is the time of year I have an uncontrollable urge to buy MORE, MORE, MORE for those in need.
Warmest bear hugs,

P.S. My husband and I are practicing random acts of kindness this year. Try it!! You'll REALLY be filled with the spirit of Christmas.
Almost done...my mum and sister to buy for...difficult peoples!!!
Daphne, we have to have exactly the same number of presents for my niece and nephew!! Its crazy!!
But...this year we're asking for trouble lol...Ryan has a big basket ball hoop with the back board and all...so Emily will have more...yikes!!
I'm done and 99% wrapped. I am never ready this early and it does feel good. I am spending all day bakin-yum TomorrowI',spending the day with a good friend, and goinf out for lunch ,while the kids have their last day of school before the break. It feels nice to have time to relax.
Oooh, I love baking cookies for presents I even had two years where I made old fashioned lollipops, but they really were such a big production, and the cookies smell nicer. I shall never forget the year I baked up big batches of cookies, and had the bags n cards all sorted. Went to the Post Office that was overflowing with people waiting in line with their piles of packages to go out. Of course the smell of 'fresh baked' cookies began wafting through and all of them turned with hungry eyes on me and the boxes I was quickly stuffing and sealing.
One fellow gave it a try and asked if I'd brought extras.... Unfortunately all my cookies had been counted to the last one. I won't make that mistake again
Ellen I'm soooo with you on that 'lucky year' This was supposed to be a lucky year for me. Other than Blossom arriving
, it started well, but went downhill from there....
I agree, the vets end up with a lot of money, but unless they're really good at time management...ie turning it over to others...they rarely have the time to enjoy their money.
And I am loving not being nuts and trying to order and wrap and hide.....
An advantage to getting a little older-presents aren't as important...It means enjoying the season more and not being so stressed.
There is something to be said for not being stressed,
I have to agree Dilu. But I had to start at the beginning of the year to be like this
Alrighty then . . . yesterday I went to town and did ALL of my Christmas shopping in one day. I'm done. I did it all in one day. I found everything I had planned to buy. Whew ! ! ! Now to the wrapping.
Yes all done! My husband though has not bought mine, so he is off to the City now.
I finished the last yesterday and wrapped them all and they are under the tree.
Today we are going to make Christmas cookies and gingerbread men, so that is always fun.
Hugs
Carolyn
