Hey,

Hope you all had a great christmas and are about or already had a great new years party ;)

I need some help. A friend of mine, Her mom has an old bear, So old it only has fur at the top of its legs :P

My friends grandmother unstitched him and so now he has no head! He has an weird open mouth, With a weird spring type mouth that kind of makes it open??? Also has some metal slits at the back of his head.... I don't personaly think I can repair him as he is rather grubby and any thread I use will be easily seen. Also I am not experianced at bear making at all really!

Any advice would be great!

Thank you,

Richy~

Hmm that's a tough one.  Have any photos of the bear so we can see?  Anything you do will make a difference to the bear so you need to approach this carefully.

Righty oh.

Just got some scanning of the peices for the bear...... I can try and take a picture of the bear but it will be very poor most likley.

I have a few scanned photos of the peices. I also have a photo of the body and also a drawing done by someone who was taking him apart... The drawing also has a spring in and I think has to do with the metal peices in the head guesset at the back???

Please any advice.

Thank you for your time

Richy~

This is the body of the bear. It;s feet pads need re making.

This is the head guesset. The ears go in there as per instructions and also those weird metal things at the back???

Those are the head peices. Looks a little creepy but I'm guessing messuring the hard board peices with red felt (as there is red felt evidence on the hard board) and sewing the mouth up.

Thats a drawing of the mouth that was done by someone who took it apart. (The actually hard board needed re making so I don't have it here) Also the disk at the top is a cotter pin.

uh uh....now, I guess, if I wouldn´t have taken it apart, I would not know how to fumble it back together again
This one sure looks time consuming...good luck!
