Hi everybody.

We've gotten a lot of new members over the last short while so I wanted to post a few reminders, referencing nobody in particular (so don't get all flustered, embarrassed, or angry please!), about WHAT GOES WHERE on the forum, so that we can keep things as orderly as possible.  That's not my OCD tendencies speaking (although I admit, I have them); that's common sense, so that we can find whatever it is we're bound to be looking for tomorrow.  That's only possible if we stick it in the right place, today.

I'm addressing this thread not just to our newer members who are still learning the forum (and let's help them!), but also to our old-timers -- some of whom might want to read up a bit on the following guidelines.

Let's ALL do our part, individually, to keep topic areas tidy, and to ensure that all threads posted to them are pertinent.

==========================================================================================

In the DISCUSSIONS area....

1.)  GENERAL is for chit chat and general life discussions of any kind.  It is NOT the place to post photos of new work or items for sale.  It IS the place to post jokes, ask for support and help about generic topics that don't have a specific forum for their subject area, and share general information.. or just to say HI, vent, console or congratulate a peer, or look for connection with other bear makers.

2.)  TIPS, TECHNIQUES & TEDDY TALK is for all discussions pertaining to the technical "how-to's" of constructing teddy bears.

3.)  MINIATURES is for discussions of all things teensy.

4.)  NEEDLEFELTING is for discussions of all things felted.

5.)  CHALLENGES is the area to post challenges, digital or teddy bear.

6.)  NEW MEMBERS is where we like to see new Teddy Talkers first introduce themselves, and where we like to welcome them warmly!

7.)  SHOWCASE is the place to post photos of work that is NOT currently for sale, such as contest entries; pieces you're keeping for yourself; or items you're giving away in swaps or as gifts.

8.)  SHOW & TRAVEL is where discussions take place covering teddy bear events and travel interests that bearmakers might share.

9.)  REPORTING LIVE is an occasional use forum where "live reporters" sometimes post about events of arctophile interest in their area, or in their area of expertise.

==========================================================================================

In the MARKETPLACE area...

1.)  TEDDY TALK TEE-SHIRTS is where you go to order our fabulous, 100%, white, logo-imprinted TT tees!

2.)  TEDDY BEARS & OTHER FRIENDS is the right place to introduce and post ALL PHOTOS OF NEW WORK that you have for sale, or will have for sale in the immediate future.  It's the only place (along with ART CARDS), other than banner ads, that Teddy Talk allows what is essentially "advertising" of your work to appear on the forum.  Be sure, when you post, to read the sticky about guidelines first, and to post not just links to your eBay auctions and your website sales, but also, a description and at least one photo of your work in your thread.  We want to admire your talents!

3.)  FREE PATTERNS is where you can find Sue Ann's "Goldie" pattern and, hopefully, in the future, more great free patterns that you can download.  There's also a "Classroom" here, where you can clarify instructions or ask questions specifically about the patterns provided here.

4.)  ART CARDS is the place to post photos and links to your beautiful, handmade Artist Trading Cards with a teddy bear theme!

5.)  VENDORS is the topic area where you'll find the banners of ALL our wonderful advertisers here at Teddy Talk, all in one place.

==========================================================================================

In the TEDDY TALK area...

1.)  ANNOUNCEMENTS is where general site announcements will be made by the Admin or Advisors for the Teddy Talk site.  Usually anything important will also be linked by the site Admin to the very top area of the forum, known as TOPIC HIGHLIGHTS.

2.)  TECHNICAL HELP is the place to go if you've forgotten your password, can't figure out why the site won't load today, or have other technical site-related (not teddy-related) questions.

==========================================================================================

Thank you for helping us keep Teddy Talk easy to use, by helping us to keep it organized logically and consistently!

As one last reminder... any posts found in areas where they don't belong may be moved by site Admin to better follow the above organizational guidelines.

Yup Sandra, noticed the new buttony thing too   bear_tongue    I love how organised this place is...and not overwhelming with sub headings and such either considering how large it is.  Thanks for the guidelines Shelli and Intercal for such a great forum  :hug:

Clare it doesn't take long to get used to it...but then i began when there were only a few headings and have grown with it...i hear that some people click on the show posts since last visit button and you get everything up that you haven't seen.
