You all need to step back and calm down.  This is Intercal's site and they can do as they wish.  If you do not like it, you do not need to be here.  It's as simple as that.  Quit mucking up the boards with this nonsense.  Get over it or get on with it.

Hi Shirley,

I do believe most of us are calm about this discussion, a little upset yep you bet but we are civil.  It is Intercal's site and they can do what they like, but is is also a public forum and in their rules they state they encourage freedom of expression and that is what everyone is doing expressing their opinions (no ones' feelings are getting hurt and no one is being harrassed or picked on).  Daphne had a legitimate question, which you will notice no one in the powers  that be has answered and expalined to her and to the group why it happened.

I'm sorry you feel that we are mucking up the boards, but again this is a discussion board, the question was put under the General area and that's what this area is for when it does not contain a Teddy Bear related topic (this is what the help advisors told me).  My suggestion would be for you Shirley would be to ignore this topic from now on since it seems to IRK you for some reason.   So when you see this topic pop up under new post, just don't read it and all will be fine.

Now my email was nice and friendly and explained my point of view.  Yours also explained your opinion but if your read the two you will notice mine was not offensive.

Have a great day

Shane

Ah, we have another one! Funny how they only appear when there is controversy. Some thrive on such things and love to stir the pot even more. They are NOT out to seek justice, stand up for whats right and honest and true. They just like to stir the pot!

I think the statement I quoted of yours above would also apply to this particular thread. If you don't like what's being said DON'T READ IT! Move on!

And in response to the threat you just posted to me I share this, a quote of your quoting Intercal.

FRIENDLINESS, WELCOME & CAMARADERIE are keywords on Teddy Talk. Members of the Teddy Talk community are requested to treat each other with consistent respect and dignity. Repetitive, derogatory comments which malign persons or businesses will not be tolerated.

Well Shirley, as is my right - I would have to disagree with you. In the original post by Daphne she was just apologising for inadvertently offending anyone on a previous discussion.

Everyone else was posting back with the majority of us telling her that she was an inspiration to us and a well respected advisor to all us artist new and old.

So if an apology can be seen as offensive then I want to know what the world is coming to.

I must admit Shirley - you do seem to play devil's advocate on this forum alot which I respect but you too must be aware of others feelings.

I found some of your posts rather Harsh and offensive.

I think you meant to say THREAD not THREAT there Hon.  Time to calm down sweetie and take a breather. I'm not the pot stirrer in this case, but say what you will. I will just sit back and watch you have a fit.

Nope, no typos and I tend not to lie. No need, no reason. Just the facts and nothin' but so sweetie that!

YOU seem to be the one having a fit. We were all having a discussion about what goes on here on a regular basis as regular participants of this board. A right we have... to air our concerns and share our perspectives. You are the one raising the fit! I for one have no interest in carrying on pointless conversation with you and I'm sure others will soon find it a waste of time and you'll find yourself having a fit alone.

Oh Shirley, you are soo funny.

I have to admit, pot stirrers like you entertain me. You've had 21 posts and a bunch of them have been rude and argumentative, so for those of us that post regularly and have been an ACTIVE member here for a while, we can't really take anything you say seriously because it's so negative and uncalled for.

Who are you again? Why are you caring what we say here? You dont' seem to take an interest in any other thread and want to respond to that.

It's funny because we're upset that a thread was deleted and the advisors won't acknowledge the fact, because I'm sure by now ONE of them has logged on, but there is NO need to be upset by what we say, just don't read it please if you don't like it.

I could search on-line all day and find offensive material, where do you draw the line and just keep your mouth shut?

Oh God, another pot stirrer that hasn't got the integrity to fully identify themselves - no info on registration!!  I do wish Intercal would stop people from registering without posting all pertinent personal information.   I'm sure without their anonymity to hide behind, they wouldn't be so quick to butt in.

                                         hugs,

Hi all.

Admin has not been ignoring this thread or the one which led into it.  Rather, they have been reading your comments with interest and attention and have been digesting everything that's been said to determine the best course of action for Teddy Talk at this point, all things considered.

For those that have expressed impatience that someone "in charge" didn't step in sooner, your impatience is noted.  We remind you that, as you might expect, it takes much longer than a reactive, split second, or even a a few hours, to react intelligently and purposefully to so much passionately spoken (and sometimes contradictory) commentary, especially given that everyone behind the scenes at Teddy Talk wanted to do so in ways that would best serve not just the forum as an entity unto itself, but also the individuals who make up the TT readership, in strictly positive ways going forward.

Starting today, as of this very moment, an entirely revamped, firmer, better defined, clearer set of RULES FOR USE has been posted to the forum and is officially put in place.  You can find it now or in the very near future (the forum is being revamped even as I type) at the top of every forum area in a sticky post entitled TEDDY TALK RULES OF USE.

You are invited to please read the new and substantially different RULES OF USE immediately and carefully, and we encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience, since these RULES OF USE will apply, without exception, from this day forward.

A direct link to these RULES can be found here:  http://www.teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=4523

We'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that there is not a 24/7 Admin presence on the board nor are Advisors present to convey problems to Admin on a 24/7 basis.  In the future, should problems arise on the board which require address, they will be handled expeditiously and with as much haste as possible.  The fact that a problem "sits" on the board for a few hours does not mean that the new policies are not being enforced.  It simply means that the issue has not yet been noticed by the TT staff.

Of course, it was Bill Cosby who famously said, "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody." Admin won't please everybody with these RULES OF USE changes and in fact they didn't even try.  Rather, the focus of all efforts in this endeavor was on keeping Teddy Talk safe for all participants; more clearly defining the much misunderstood role of the Advisors here; and firmly tighetning up consequences and outcomes for those who choose to blatantly ignore Teddy Talk policies from this day forward.

You are not required to like or agree with Teddy Talk policies to participate on this forum, but you are required to abide by them.  If you choose not to, you choose to accept the consequences of your actions.

This thread, having been born in the "old regime" era, will continue to stand and will not be deleted by Admin.

If this same thread is posted tomorrow, however, it will be immediately deleted, as part of the "new regime" going forward.

All of us who nurture and care for Teddy Talk thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping the board pleasant and safe.  We hope that you'll find the new RULES OF USE acceptable and that they increase your feelings of safety, happiness, and community here.

If, however, you find the new RULES OF USE disagreeable and find you cannot abide by them, we'll be sincerely sorry to see you go.

This thread is now closed.

PS  Don't shoot the messenger, either.  I just volunteer here!
