Newcastle, OntarioFor those of you who are more technically minded, I am just curious. The hosting site I am using offers a "no right click" service, but I've heard a few people on here say its easy to get past. Exactly how easy is it to get around it and save a picture, if it has a "no right click" and is it worth putting this on my pictures I use on Ebay, to prevent auctions being stolen or my pictures being used on fraudulent sites, overseas?

Dolls N DreamsI know you can view source and find the path and link of the picture if you really really want it.
I have the no right click on my website.... really I don't know why I do, just always have.
I don't think it really does any good though! LOL
Its VERY easy to get past! Me personally, I dont bother with it because anybody with just a smidge of computer knowledge can do it.....

It's super easy to get passed, heck all you have to do is take a screen shot, crop the photo you want out and you're done.
But for some people, the fact that they can't just instantly save your picture will deter them.

I'm actually thinking about my hubby and smiling to myself.. He can't figure out how I've learned so much about computers without asking him LOL! He doesn't know Teddy Talk is like having your own computer teacher :crackup:

ToadBriarI always use right-click. I just used it to read this thread!
I use right-click to open a link in a new window. That way, I can continue
reading the previous page while the next one loads. I use it ALL THE TIME.
Disabling right-click accuses me of trying to be a thief when
all I wanted to do was read. I find it obnoxious, it makes me cross. Sorry
guys - it's one of my peeves.
A screenshot is an image of your screen - you can take one anytime if you just
press Alt + PrintScreen (usually on the upper right of the keyboard)
Then you can open a photo program & 'paste' into a new image the shot of your screen.
Also, every photo you look at online is saved temporarily in your browser's cache
(which is why pages load so much faster the second time you visit them in a short while.)
Canna Bear PaintI would agree with the others that it is not worth it. Way too easy to get past, and you will annoy the life out of people who navigate with right clicking.

I so this too to optimize my computer time with my slow dial-up. I HATE no right click. I use it a LOT and NOT to steal photos!
I have my dial-up set to load pictures at a very low quality (very fuzzy and minimal colors) to help speed up page loading. I use right click to "refresh picture at full quality" on pictures I actually want to see. (Like beautiful bear photos!) If I don't have right click capability I can't see your photos unless I refresh the entire page which, if it has many graphics, takes ages and I usually don't bother. Sometimes that doesn't even work because my connection on that page will time out before the entire photo loads and I wind up with just a little strip of it. 
aargh! Very frustrating. And time consuming.
I realize those of still forced to live in the digital dark ages with dial-up may be in the minority but it's something to consider.

Aha! I've always wondered how you did that! I knew it must be something simple but never needed to do it so never ask. Thanks teacher! 
Newcastle, OntarioThanks Bonnie, you brought up a very valid point. I never even considered people with dial up. I do remember getting frustrated when we had dial up, when things took too long to load and I used to click off the page. It's definitely good to get other artist's opinions.
