I am so annoyed right now, I just purchased some charms to use on my bears...the auction says that they accept Pay Pal, so far so good....I do the buy it now, go to pay and it says that this seller does not accept Pay Pal from non-US accounts, even though they only sell to US and Canada...can somebody take a look at the details and tell me if I have missed something, I thought Pay Pal was Pay Pal?

Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi … &rd=1&rd=1

Krista

hummm, strange indeed...
It says it works only for US buyers with "confirmed address".
Could it be the problem???
If not, i fear i have no clue.

Did you e-mail the seller to ask them what to do?

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

K Pawz Guest

Yes I have emailed her, and no response yet....I took her statement to mean that if you weren't confirmed then you could not use Pay Pal, I am confirmed....god only knows I am probably going to end up with negative feedback now since she states quite obviously in her auction that she will leave it!! What to do....I use Pay Pal so that I don't have to use Money Orders!!

Krista,
That's really odd - I accept Paypal from the U.S. and don't know why it should matter?  If she says "no" for sure, I'd get a money order out to her ASAP to try and head off any negative feedback.

It says something in her auction that if you use Paypal, to email her for an invoice to include shipping.  I don't see anything on the auction proper that says otherwise.  Everything I'm seeing says she ships to Canada, and lists prices, etc.

If you've emailed her, I'd say wait a bit and see if she gets back to you this evening. If not, try emailing her tomorrow....oh, and keep records of the emails you've sent to her, just in case.

Yeah I am totally confused because the invoice at the end of the auction says this, which list Pay Pal as an option:

I think that invoice might be an automatic one generated from Paypal, or ebay.  I've panicked the same way before over auctions.  Her instructions right under the pic of the charm is to contact her for the invoice, so I'm sure she won't give you bad feedback ~ she can't, because you're following her instructions.

If you don't here from her this evening via email, re email her in the morning

Thanks Debbie, I have contacted her so I guess I will wait and see

Hey Krista, I looked and did not see anything to indicate that it would be a problem if you are a confirmed address.

Heres a thought...send funds to a US verified account (like mine) and have that person forward payment on to the seller. I know it sounds like alot of extra work, but if you, as well as the person who send them their payment write to say "please send item to (your address inserted here)  address" and explain the situation, it shouldn't be a problem. Your more then welcome to use my name/pay-pal account for this if you would like. Problem solved *smiles*
Let me know if you would like to use my services, but remember to read the fine print below....

Bear hugs,

Kim

fine print: There will be a $1,000,000.00 USD transaction fee...just kidding, its only $100 USD...ok, ok...there really is no fee

I so hear you.  I literally spent hours (like at least 10)last weekend, trawling through a suppliers ginormous website to find the products that I really wanted, reading all their fine print and noting, yes, they do have paypal, and yes, they do ship to New Zealand at a reasonable rate, but get to the checkout and the paypal option isn't there.  After waiting 4 days for a response they emailed to say that they can't work out shipping via paypal so don't offer it outside of the US.  SOOOOOO frustrating.  One simple sentence would have saved me so much time.

Thankfully Bobbie came to my rescue and I will have my pretty new stamps to play with after all.

Thank you so much for the offer Kim, I may have to take you up on that, but if so I may also have to get it shipped to you and then on to me since she only ships to the address on the pay pal account....but thank you so much I will let you know if I need to take you up on the offer!!
It is really annoying because I always first off, okay where do they ship to? and then okay do they take Pay Pal? Okay are their rates reasonable or out to lunch???? I thought I was fine with this one!!

Krista

You should be able to add another address into your paypal account - that's what I've done.

???? What do you mean Melissa?

won't help so much in this particular case as it's the "verified U.S." bit that's the sticking point not the postage outside of the states.

You can add additional shipping adresses onto your account.  I have added a friend's as my thieving neigbours take my mail   bear_angry  and I now have a US address for those pesky sellers who won't sell outside US...and that person kindly forwards them to me.

Are you verified on paypal?  I am even though I'm not a US seller.  I really don't see what difference it makes if you are Canadian or US verified.

K Pawz Guest

Thanks Melissa, I am verified and have a confirmed address so I don't know what the issue is...but I have emailed the seller through eBay asking if she would take payment from a seperate US confirmed account, send there, and then I would just have it forwarded...no answer as of yet, and no answer to any of my other emails either so will just wait and see what happens...thanks again for all of your help, you can be sure that this is a question that I will be asking from now on when buying, and I think I will put in my auction something to the effect of "I accept payment from all Pay Pal accounts"

Hugs,
Krista

Hey Krista,
I read the original payment info. that the seller accepts Pay Pal from US....and money orders from outside US under the payment section...it is really confusing. I'm happy to use pay pal from here, also...let me know  bear_original

Thanks Bobbie...It kills me though, she will accept money outside of the US in the form of Money order or Cheque, now to me this would be extra work so I really don't get it....I have seen people want Money orders or cheques for people in their own country and can understand this since they do have to pay Pay Pal fees, but it makes no sense to me to accept Pay Pal in your own country but not from the other Country/ies that you say you ship to...I am boggled by this really I am....Isn't this the whole point of Pay Pal??

and the foreign transaction fee is only .50 - surely waaaaay less hassle than a money order???

I'd be out of business if I sold only in NZ

MOs at my bank are running between $15 & $35 US.
I refuse to use them. Banks alreasy get enough in fees. I'd rather do without.

And that's been called Cutting Off Your Nose To Spite Your Face, but withthe web, there's always someone else ready to sell if you look. I'd rather spend Time than Money.

K Pawz Guest

I hear ya!!! I refuse to send a money order, not only do I have to wait for it to get there and then wait for shipping, but as you stated Bobbie, it also cost more money....I am just trying to figure out if there is anyway to get out of this purchase without getting non paying bidder strikes!!! I wonder if the fact that she doesn't state that she "Does Not Accept Pay Pal outside of the US" rather than implying it, which can be interpreted many ways the way it is written will help get me out of it???

Krista

That just sucks Bobbie, hopefully you get it sorted out soon.....I have already contacted eBay for her lack of full disclosure of her terms so hopefully that makes me the first complainer!!!

No, I get charged to accept money because I have a business account too, but like with every pp acount, sending is free. I think a personal account only allows you to be able to accept $100 a month....that would be a pain!!

Just let me know if you need my help.

Bear Hugs,

Kim

Thanks Kim, I will let you know, I am still waiting for some type of response...I have contacted her asking about other options and the only thing I have recieved so far is the invoice above...very annoying
