... there are less and less people viewing and commenting on the bears in the showcase?
It does not concern only my bears, but many others.
Are you all too busy?
Or do you forget to visit the showcase?
Or is it just me and my bears...
If many people are like me (big lack of self confidence and big need of encouragement), I bet many are frustrated not to get more replies...
It is so important to get feedback from you all...
Not every person is surrounded with people understanding our teddy bear making.
I know there are lots of new bears posted everyday as TT members are getting more and more numerous.
I do my best to comment on as many bears as I can and I always forget some (sorry sorry sorry).
Sorry to annoy you with that, but I just needed to give my two cents!
Beary hugs,
Frustrated Sophie.
For me, I have been on less because the weather where I live is beautiful and I have been outside doing things instead of making bears and being on the computer.
Also Sophie, I know people are getting ready for shows, there are less posts on TT lately not just the showcase....and some people have acknowledged this and posted a general all the bears and friends are awesome because they lack the time due to preparing for things (b4b campaign coming up) to take the time to individually comment...I know if I stopped to comment on all the creations I would be here all day and then my work would suffer since I wouldn't be working on my pups...Don't take it personal at all Sophie, I am sure many are like me you browse them and ohhh and ahhh to yourself and then move on quickly, I also use the gallery view to see the latest as this gives me bears to drool over without having to click back a hunderd times to get to the next one when I am on a time crunch for TT...Hope this helps IT IS NOT YOU!!!!
Hugs,
Krista
I'm buried in prototype development for Boyds and show prep for Nevada City (which I may end up cancelling.) Part of what's holding me back on EVERY front is this icky right hand injury of last week which makes it hard not just to make bears but also, to type!
I actually saw your new bears yesterday, Sophie, and thought they were lovely!
Sometimes I wonder whether the feedback thing does less for peoples confidence in the end. Not getting much can be counter-productive. I know we all like feedback but when there are so many I think it's great to see the work and have somewhere to show what you've done but sometimes rather than offend I don't leave any feedback.
Sometimes I think if there weren't two places for feedback it might be easier..say for instance the 'for sale' section isn't ..in my mind ..a place where feedback is totally necessary..and the showcase is more appropriate for comment. I think there would be more comments in general if there weren't the two places to add your two penn'orth to.
It's only my take on it...and I'm no angel..I don't get time for much at all these days!!!
I humbly apologize to you, Sophie, and everybody else who has posted new bears on the "Showcase" and "Bears for Sale" forums. I haven't been replying to all the awesome, fantastic creations that you all have made just because it is totally overwhelming for me. Even though I do look at them and admire every one, if I tried to respond, I would be here forever . . . and I'm on the computer quite a long time as it is. And my philosophy is if I can't reply to all of them, then I won't reply to any. I'm not any good at time management/organization and my whole environment suffers because of it. I do want to say to you that your work is very worthy of the highest compliments and I wish that I did have the time to respond individually to all the exquisite work that is presented on this forum. Maybe some day I will get my act well enough together to be able to tell each one of you how much I admire your talent.
I'm with Jenny... too many places.... too many to comment on and some its best not to comment on. It's one thing to go down through the list and make "that's nice" comments to every bear. It's another to really look at the work and post a "wow, that's awesome"! I'd rather get the wows.... forget the nicey nice stuff!
And busy... oh yeah! Spring show season is approaching in the US, the change of seasons brings change in habits, etc. and it all adds up to less activity on the boards.
Absolutely nothing to take offense to so please don't! Like many I imagine, I look.... often times going to the artist's website for more pictures or eBay for the same! I just don't have time to comment on them all too!
We either have to make bears and get ready for shows or sit on the computer all day.
 Go bears!!!!!
Hi Sophie
I know your fustration - when you put a bear on TT, you are so exiting about getting some feedback on your work - you keep going back to the computer to see, if anybody had some comments on your bear.
But as all the others are saying - haven't got the time for the comment. But maybe we have to change that, because it means so much for the one person, who put the bear up for wiewing.
When we are together in an advertising - everybody is so exiting, and call us a big family, so maybe we should try and support our "family" a little better.
It means so much for the one person.

Hi Sophie,
Don't take it personally! You simply can't. It doesn't make or break your creativity or personal success, not at all. Although it's hard sometimes to see posts on any page see 1-3-or 4 replies while others have 9-14-or 22, it's not a rating scale to judge yourself by.
Sometimes being on the other end isn't all its cracked up to be either.
Be happy and confident with yourself and your creations and please continue to share.

I apologize - I am one of the guilty ones. I have not been commenting on bears lately - in fact I haven't even been looking at the bears for sale section. "Time" seems like such a precious commodity these days, and I just don't have enough of it. I only seem to have enough time to post a bear, peek in at the "general" section, sometimes the "tips, etc" section and then back to work. There are so many wonderful bears now on this site, that it takes just far too much time to comment on them all. I for one, would like to make the suggestion that there not be a place to comment on the "For Sale" section. (Perhaps I am just trying to assuage my guilt in not posting )
So sorry, and please don't take it personally.
Jane P.
I am guilty of not commenting on the wonderful creations ... I really don't seem to have the time to comment on all of them.
Sophie, all your bears are terrific and the work and detail you put into them is just amazing.
As others have said, so many bears to comment on, you need not have any illusions that we don't like your bears, we like them do a lot.

oh, i hope you can heal up and get all that work done....i wanted to meet you in person at nevada city and see your bears in person! but you gotta do what you gotta do...plus, you must be insanely swamped with the boyd bears thing, which is sooooo awesome may i say!
I have to agree with Sue Ann, Daphne.... etc..... I'm afraid I haven't had time to look and or comment on all those lovely bears! Every once in a while I post a general post on how great all the bears look.... but unfortunately I don't have time to post to each one. Actually... I feel a bit bad when people DO post about my bears... because I don't post about anyone elses...
Like many of us... I certainly wish there were more hours in the day! I've been keeping track of my bear making hours recently and am sadly shocked at how few there are! I've been trying to limit my internet time... but still visiting some cause I can't resist.
HUGE hugz to you!!!!!
I've really been enjoying looking at everyones bears the last few days, and commenting, I love encouragement and think it gives both ways when its given, but, usually I'm too ill to spend too long on here. It is very time consuming when so many great bears are being posted every day...but I think we can all be sure by the numbers on the views that we are being seen by our friends.
I agree with a lot of the comments made, and it is certainly nothing personal against you or your bears, Sophie. I do love to look at all the wonderful creations when I have time but I rarely have time to comment on them - particularily as I can only get dial up internet service and it is just S0 slow! I agree with Jane - I would like to see the bears for sale section not have a place to comment and then perhaps it would be easier to make comments on the show case section. I am actually a bit reluctant to put bear photos up as it makes me feel guilty - like I am seeking admiration and comments from others when I so rarely have time to comment on others bears.
Perhaps if everyone would realize by the number of viewers that people are admiring their bears even without the comments then the comments might not be so necessary and if someone is really looking for feedback - as in what can they do to improve a bear or what is wrong with something in particular - then they could post it under general, or mini, or needlefelting whichever applied and get the needed comments and feedback there? Just a suggestion for a possible solution!
Thanks girsl for your replie!
Time is so precious to all of us.
I too am always running after time.
I have got lots and lots of copies waiting for correction, lots of bears to make, and so many other things to do I just don't know what to do first!!!!
And i guess we are all like that, trying to find a way to organize things.
I do try myself to spend less time on my fav forums but it is so hard!
I just NEED to spend time posting here, reading news from my TT family.
Anyway, i'd better think about getting a bit of work done...
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
