For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Now either at the end of last year or the beginning of this year, someone posted a topic about an 'Art magazine'
hosting a challenge and have put the word out to the bear world to make an 'ART Bear'.
I saved the information but I have forgotten who's information I had saved
Feeling like a true  I was wondering if the lovely person who originally posted the info or for that matter someone who like me is going to enter, could leave the info I need for this challenge?
PLEASE!! All I remember is that the deadline is 15th June 2007.
Thankyou , Wendy
Now I do remember this Wendy but unfortunately I am having a brain freeze and can't remember the name of the magazine or who posted the info........Well that was a lot of help wasn't it??
Hang on...was it Art Doll Quarterly??? or something like that...
Yep it was Art Doll Quarterley. I can't remember who posted about it originally.
Their website is: http://www.stampington.com/html/art_doll_quarterly.html
Perhaps try searching the archives of TT, and you should find it. I'll have a go, and get back to you if I can find it!!
Wendy, I'm pretty sure it was Lisa Thoms of Twin Cubs that posted the info. I think Samantha and Sarah Jane gave the right magazine info.
I have searched the archives, but can't find the post, but I did save all the info on my laptop, so can copy and paste it here. Obviously, I cannot take credit for giving this info, someone else took the time to type it all out, but here it is:
Artful Teddy Bears
For many of us, a teddy bear served as our first confidante, best friend and tagalong. A well-loved teddy bear continues as a staple of childhood, even as younger generations enjoy action figures, hand-held video games and electronic pets. What artistic heights are possible with a teddy bear? We invite you to take on teddy bear making as an art and test the boundaries of creativity. Consider using Karen O’Brien’s basic bear pattern in the Spring 2007 issue as a starting point and adding collage pieces, vintage items or ephemera. Feel free to pursue another pattern or design your own. Or try altering a teddy bear, using the existing figure as a canvas for creating an entirely unique piece of art. We’re eager to share teddy bear art and inspiration with readers in the Winter 2008 issue.??Deadline for artwork to be received: June 15, 2007. Please read submission guidelines before sending your submissions to: Stampington & Company · C/O: Art Doll Quarterly · 22992 Mill Creek, Suite B · Laguna Hills, CA 92653
The link to the Submissions Guidlines is: http://www.stampington.com/html/adq_sub … lines.html
Hope this helps!!! And sorry to whomever provided all this information before, that I can't remember who you are!!!
Thankyou Sarah, Tammy and Samantha.
My apologies also to the person who originally brought this to our attention.
Thankyou for the info Samantha and the time you spent retrieving it for me.
I did look through archives yesterday. But couldnt find the initial post.
I did save this info but it got lost in my favourites. It 's rather hard to find what you dont know what you are looking for.
Again THANKYOU!!!!!

This looks like a really interesting way to get doll collectors interested in also collecting bears.
After reading through the submission guidelines it looks like you have to send them your finished bear and not just photographs. Has anyone ever submitted to this mag before?
Hugs,
I think that it was Lisa Thoms that first posted about this opportunity.

I think this feature on Karen O'Brien is the first bear story they've done. I really would like to submit something but I seem to be suffering from a major brain fart at the moment and everything I'm attempting seems like just crap so we'll have to see..............
Cheryl
Oh Cheryl, I have never heard of that complaint with brains before
I hope it doesnt have anything to do with talking out of ones butt???
