...about why my listing isn't appearing on eBay? I listed my latest piece on eBay under' artist, one of a kind'...even when I click on the category link on the page  it doesn't show up....which I just can't work out why. I always list in this category...I thought it might be the title but looking at others they don't mention the word 'bear ' and still they appear...I'm on .co.uk this time but that's never made a difference...

If I type 'artist bear' in the search it shows up...but doesn't show when I look through the 'artist, ooak' section...

I am scratching my head......any  ideas?

Hi Jenny,
I've also had a lot of trouble lately with my listings not showing, the last lot I listed didn't show for 6 hours which means with bears in one of a kind and not in the featured section, they are virtually off the first page by the time they get a look in....it's just ridiculous...I've emailed ebay several times about this and just get the usual gobblygook...blah blah..it can take up to 6 hours, so why are all the others showing, and not mine????... bear_angry  bear_angry  bear_angry

I typed in your name and the bunny appeared, but it's not appearing when I do the basic dolls/bears-artists-OOAK.  It might be that "systems updating" thing.  Live chat always says that listings can take up to 8 full hours to show fully in any category due to their systems updating or rotating or something like that. I have no other ideas... other than to say grab a cup of hot tea and try live chat. (as maddening as it can be)

Good Luck with it, the bunny is exactly what her name says!   bear_wub

EDIT:  Because this is such a huge thing now and it now seems that delays are the rule and not the exception....When this delay happens, supposedly, per Ebay live chat..the listing isn't suppose to be dropped to a 2nd or 3rd page.  It's suppose to appear in a regular first listing and not all of a sudden show up 4 pages down.  At least that's what they told me.  Denise, if you saw otherwise get on live chat and try to see if they can offer an explanation or correct it.

Hi Denise...i don't get it either...even when I click the category link above the auction page...it should show up it's in that category it's nowhere to be seen...and when I type  'bear' or 'artist' in the search it shows up...so it is on there but where.....it's just weird..I can't understand what i did different....nightmare!!!

Jenny, I just listed my bear in the featured section and no show...I put it into search and it didn't  even come up..gees I'm angry...I'm going to live help to try and find out why, I'm getting fed up of paying good money for the listing, in this case $23US and ebay aren't upholding their end of it... bear_angry  bear_angry  bear_angry  bear_angry and that business of it taking up to 6 hours, well why don't all auctions take that long to show??

Jenny I have a lot of trouble with this too, now I find that if I get my listing done early then schedule it then it appears immediately....no luck today though I am also waiting for mine to show as I didn't schedule it...  :/

Denise I agree...why don't everyones auctions take that long to show!!!   bear_cry

Me again...not to beat a dead horse  bear_whistle  but if you mention the fees with ebay....how we're all paying $25+ for featured listings for  __ days and getting ripped off an 8 hour chunk of that time.  The live chat rep will inform you that your fees are not reflective of the time of your auction (1-3-5-7days) the fees are instead reflective of your "right to list" alone. If you loose view time it's not a thing to do with the fees you're paying, according to ebay.  That's what I got last time.
Again, I'm not anti ebay. I just think they treat users like cattle and only fix what hits their own pockets. bear_sad

Hi Sarah, yes it seems to me that's the trick, ebay make more money by pushing you into scheduling your auction...they don't miss a trick do they, how greedy can you get as if they aren't ripping us off enough with the ridiculously high fees, now this!!!

Denise you are so right...I hope Bid 4 Bears takes off then we can be rid of ebay......I seem to have more trouble with my auctions on a Sunday (US time) though maybe because it's busy.  I can't even find mine in the searches at the moment... bear_sad

Sarah, I can't find mine either, and after paying $28AU for the listing, I'm seething...but atleast when it shows it's in the featured section...I can't always afford to put it there but when it's not by the time it shows it's off the first page, and a lot of buyers miss seeing them...I have just sent ebay an email because live help is out of hours, but as soon as I can I'll get onto them, I suggest you & Jenny do the same, the more that complain the better...

That would be great Jodi! So many collectors look at this site, it would be wonderful if we could sell from here.
I'm so fed up with ebay, there's always a problem, last time I listed a bear, half the auction didn't show up, nothing to do with my template it was the ebay portion at the bottom, there was no where to bid???????????? ebay live help couldn't fix it so they refunded the fees but I had to start over again and so the listing lost it's momentum & many watchers  bear_angry  bear_angry  bear_angry
With the fees they are just getting so greedy and don't seem to care! just take the money!!!

I too listed a bear today...early today...and it only recently showed up. It's been hours, and I was wondering if it was just my bear or if you all were having the same problem. Ebay is a bunch of crap. I'm so tired of the problems with ebay...and especially those very high fees I get every month. Listing several bears a month those fees do add up, don't they? And it's only the worse if I don't sell a bear...I still got to pay for that listing.

I am really hoping that Bid4Bears does phenomenally well and we could all permanently switch to listing there.

Mines not showing up either, nor in a search...shows up in my Ebay and I received a confirmation email from them that my scheduled listing as started but it's not there...it's been 30 minutes.  FRUSTRATING!!!   Clearly others have started AFTER mine...how does THAT happen?

none of our auctions are showing yet!! this absolutely ridiculous...
in fact ebay has gone nuts   bear_wacko  bear_wacko I just saw this lady's auction come up as a newly listed but when you click on it, it's been on for nearly seven days and finishes in 15 hours...so hers has come up and all of us are still "no show"   bear_angry  bear_angry  bear_angry  bear_angry http://cgi.ebay.com/LOVELY-MOHAIR-BEAR- … dZViewItem

Sarah....as if listing bears isn't nervewracking enough...and on top of it we have to put up with this incompetence..every time I see another newly listed bear pop up I'm wondering where all ours are...just floating around in cyberspace somewhere...if all those other auctions can be up and running straight away why can't ours????????? gees!I still can't even find Jenny's and she listed it over 6 hours ago.
I'd better go have a cuppa and calm down before I pop a valve!

Hi Louise, I can see Jenny's bunny now but it's taken over 6 hours to show......Shantell's, Jodi's Sarahs & mine still aren't there and Eliza said hers took hours to come up too.
Just not acceptable

I'm not sure if this will answer any of your questions, but I'm sitting here doing paperwork (I'm a TOTAL night owl nowadays) and planning to list a few items under my hubs account so I went to live help to see what they had to say. What this rep is saying here is completely the opposite of what another rep told me last week when I listed Forest. Last week the guy made it sound like every delay is in order and no one listing will suddenly pop into a line of currently visible listed items.  But, here's what they said exactly this time......

  Lynn R.
Hello, thank you for waiting and welcome to eBay Live Chat! My name is Lynn.

  ME
hello, quick questions before I list a few items.

  ME
first quick question is about listing delays....using featured listing my item is within the first page or 2 no matter what, but if I list and there's a delay up to 6 hours will my items be seen 6 hours after the listing on top page or will it fall down to 2nd-3rd-4th-page +/- because of the delays?

ME
this is assuming I'm not using featured for these items

  Lynn R.
It will be seen when the listing goes up, and it will show that it was listed at the time it was submitted.

  Lynn R.
So if you listed it at 12 pm but it's not visible until 6 pm it will still show that it started at 12 pm and fall in search accordingly.

  ME
ok, one more question about that

  Lynn R.
Sure!

  ME
so if I list right now and get a 6 hour delay and 25 others list in the same category right now after me over the next hour and they don't see delays their items will essentially be seen now on top pages and mine may not...the delay will keep me in time line order with them, but the more people that list the further down I get bumped.

  Lynn R.
It is possible that this will happen. However it's also possible that your item would not see a whole lot more of a delay than other items in the same category.

ME
Do buyers ever miss out on items because they've scanned the first few pages and don't realize that items might pop in line 6 hours later?

  Lynn R.
Most items are actually found through keyword searches.

ME
right, but in collectible categories where specific pages are searched, this could be an issue...maybe??

Lynn R.
I haven't heard about this happening a lot honestly but I did hear of it happening once. It depends on how busy the category is, really.

  ME
Does scheduling a listing ahead of time prevent any of this from happening. Is it a best way to avoid delays?

  Lynn R.
It does help with some of the delays, yes, so you can try scheduling in advance. It still doesn't guarantee an exact duration or listing time though, it does guarantee an exact end time.

  ME
So even if the listing is created a week ahead of time it could still see listing delays of up to 6 hours from it's launch time?

  Lynn R.
It is still possible, yes.

  ME
ok. well, thanks for your help, it's appreciated :)

  ME
good night

Lynn R.
You're very welcome! Thank you, you too!

SO.  What I'm getting is that there are no guarantees except that your auction will end.    bear_tongue
Your item will show up eventually, stamped at the listing start time. And delays are random. If you and five other list at 10pm Sunday half might see delays and half may not. bear_wacko
