That's interesting isn't it....I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it. I have to say I usually schedule my auctions at least a few days ahead but this time I was working and couldn't manage to do it...but I just think they are as confused as we are since they have no answers.
This morning my auction shows on .co.uk but not on .com...anywhere....not even in it's listing category despite the 6 hour wait and clicking on the page link. I don't know how it happens...I tried live chat but it kept saying it was too busy so I gave up at half past midnight!!! Last time this happened they said that in order for it to be visiblr on .com I had to select the worldwide shipping option...which I had already done... they didn't help further..
Last time I listed on .com ...I never know what to do...is it better to list on .com..but then I get paid in dollars ...even from UK buyers ..or do I list on .co.uk and risk this happening...whatever I do I think ebay is  getting sillier and more confusing every time I list!

Eight hours later it's finally on...so is Jodi's! better late than never I guess..

Ellen ..I'll certainly be taking a look at bid4bears..Chrissi suggested it to me, sounds like a much better option to ebay...

Denise after 6 hours I got on to live chat and had them end my listing and refund my fees...I'm going to schedule mine from now on, I have never had this problem when I schedule a listing but it seems that any time I put a listing on without scheduling it seems to happen. I'll put mine on tomorrow now.... bear_noexpression

For me I find that because I'm not very well known (yet) if I miss that first 6 hours my bears never get as many watchers or looks so it makes a real difference to the result of my auction!!! Last week my auction picked up most of its watchers within the first 6 hours and only a few more for the whole week!!!

I seem to be showing up now...not sure when must have been sometime in the middle of the night here.  I always do a scheduled listing.  If they can't guarantee a START time then they need to change their format to stay END time not START time.  bear_angry  bear_angry   Six hours seems like a  really long delay but what do I know.

just wanted to add one more thing. I didn't time how long it took my bear to appear yesterday, but I can tell you it took half a day for it to appear. I had listed it early in the day and it was not there till the evening.  bear_angry  I thought it was just my bear that had gotten lost in cyberspace, but apparently everyone is having the same problem.

WelllI just had a long session with live help..and I am none the wiser. I still don't show on .com..and I am very grumpy. I do have bids so I ought to  stick with it but whatever they say on their you can't ever get anywhere near them admitting there is a problem. My bear does not show on .com with a category or a name search full stop. It comes up if you type 'jenny johnson' in the search...but who will do that? No-one....If you type Three O'clock Bears it says that one item is available from international sellers...me. I thought if you selected worldwide availablity in  any  category it should show if I put it on .co.uk or .co.timbuktoo....what a pile of do-do.

I give up with ebay...I just can't cope with much more ...I am also annoyed that when you select a featured listing option you only get featured on .co.uk....whwreas there are .com items in the featured section of .co.uk....not fair.....totally... NOT FAIR!!

I better have a cup of tea before my head explodes!!

I agree the first hours on Sunday night is very important, I get the most bids at that time and when it shows up the next morning with bids I think people on monday notice it more.  I think if you pay for a certain amount of time (and the clock starts the minutes you list) then you should get that much time, if not they should refund some of your money, if they had to they would do a better job getting the auctions loaded.  I am really excited about Bid 4 Bears I hope it takes off like a rocket ship!

I have a sneeking feeling Jenny that people who are looking for YOUR bears have figured out exactly what they need to do to find them and they probably do type in "Jenny Johnson."  People are resourceful when looking for something or someone specific.  However, I agree, it's stinks like...well using your phrase do do!!!

I'll join in some tea...I hear my pot whistling NOW!!!

I had EXACTLY the same problem as you Jenny with my panda bear a few weeks back.  Previously I listed on co.uk in the artist one a kind section and it also automatically appeared on .com.  However then I tried the same again and it did not appear unless you typed Bumpkin Bears in  bear_rolleyes   I got onto live help and they basically said that it was because I had not listed it on .com and it would not automatically appear (this is despite it working before!).... so I'm at a loss too!  I listed my mini bear yesterday and it took around 6 hours before appearing too.

Roll on bid4bears...

I *always* use Schedule in Advance.

The choice can be made up to 2 weeks in advance, and at 10ยข it's about the cheapest option/fee on eBay! They show up within minutes of the scheduled time.  The one time I forgot, early on 2 yrs ago, it took half a day, so this is not a new problem. As I always see something I missed is spelling/grammar etc.. this gives me a chance to clean it uo first!  I read a listing today that said (in speaking of her family heritage) that her Grandma was detrimental in teaching her about herbs, soapmaking..

My heart stopped, as I thought she was about to say the Grandma died after using the wrong herb plant! I know she meant Instrumental, but scheduling and then going back over it a few times gives me a chance to focus on the words instead of doing it while trying to get the url path for my images loaded correctly!!!

I also don't use the Featured options as they show up on the first page only. $20 is out of my budget. In the Needle Felting category, we've increased from 2 -3 pages of listings a year ago, to 9 - 12 daily now. I don't think it's worth paying for one of their most expensive options for so little 'face' time.

Jodi I agree with you whole heartedly on this one...and it is especially important for people like me who are not well known as yet, if you miss those first few hours then the whole auction is compromised!!!..But when you try to explain all this to 'live help' they just give you some garbage about ebay making you available to a worldwide audience etc etc etc....I bought up the point about paying for a certain amount of time.... and they very kindly pointed out that the fees are the same whether you do 1,3,5 or 7 days... bear_ermm   I think they missed my point completely!!!!!  bear_angry  bear_angry  bear_angry

I found talking to live help a waste of time and they told me that you can expect to wait up to 24 hours for the indexing system to work properly!!!  bear_shocked  bear_shocked  bear_shocked

I asked 'where that leaves people who run 1 day auctions?? but they ignnored me....... bear_wacko

Anyhoo...my listing has been scheduled to start tomorrow now..lets see if that helps, I just have nooo patience for this sort of thing at all!!!!!!!

But when you try to explain all this to 'live help' they just give you some garbage about ebay making you available to a worldwide audience etc etc etc...

I found talking to live help a waste of time...but they ignored me...

I've never 'talked' with Live Help on any online site that didn't work this way.

As I know they cannot be reading your questions and typing a reply that fast, I've always thought that there is a standard set of numbered Replies that they drop into their Response and change a few words to make it look as if they're really answering you, while tap dancing and skirting the issue and never giving a straight answer.

I always schedule too...this time  I didn't...will that teach me a lesson..very probably....however from what the live help said it seems that it's likely I wouldn't have shown up on .com anyway...so it looks like I will have to schedule on .com from now on and ask that people contact me so I can send a separate paypal invoice in pounds instead of an ebay one in dollars as I can't afford ebay fees and their dodgy exchange rates....what a rip off!!!

Glad I'm not the only one this is happening to !  I thought I was doing something wrong, and have spent hours checking out how other artists have listed theirs etc. So ANNOYING !!

Denise & Sarah Jane I've seen both of your listings and they ARE there so don't worry.
