My husband and I got the bright idea to put pine flooring on our main floor. It's the wide stuff that will look old. Anyway, we saw it done and loved it. Boy, were we ambitious cuz we are not DIYers! After much thought we finally decided to hire someone to install it, but thought we could stain and urethane it ourselves - YA RIGHT! I've just gotten over bhronchitis and hubby has bronchial pneumonia!
The house is in chaos with the floors being laid, so I finally made the right decision. How do you stop chaos -hire someone to finish the floors and move to our daughters for a few days. Keep your fingers crossed cuz I'm waiting for a call back to confirm this company can do the job. I don't care what it costs. I'd much rather make bunnies to pay for it

Sounds like a great decision!! I hope you and your hubby get better soon.
Lynn
Oh Brenda good luck with getting the company to do the floors for you.
I hope that you and your husband are feeling better - those polyurethenes are very strong and overpowering.

Any re-decorating is a nightmare Brenda but with nasty infections around you just don't need it!
RUN TO YOUR DAUGHTERS HOUSE NOW!
Good luck with the flooring and get better soon both of you

You are right on the mark Brenda! Hire someone if you are in over your head. I work doing construction with my husband during the summer and you wouldn't believe the messes people get themselves into! They make it look so easy on tv, but they never seem to show what can possibly go wrong. (and something almost always go wrong!)
Hopefully your floors will be as wonderful as you had envisioned once they are finished and you will enjoy them for years to come.
Hugs,
Luann
Hi Luann,
Yep, I think hiring someone is the only way to keep our sanity. I've got calls into 3 companies, so hopefully we will have an answer soon. I'm going to start sewing for sure LOL!
hugs,
Brenda
