You guys are so funny.... Paula, where HAVE you been all this time???  bear_laugh

My studio..... oh, I worked hard to get that in order. I saved the clothes thing for last. I was changing my top for the 9th time as they pulled into the driveway! But back to my studio.... I even organized my mohair in my closet.... got it all folded and stacked by style then color. Thought it might be a neat visual for the camera (I have a LOT of mohair!) Well, the camera man thought it would be great to film too and I told him if he needed to pull it out of the closet for better lighting to go ahead and do whatever he needed to. The reporter and I left the room to chat while he spent 45 minutes just filming stuff in my studio. When we went back up he'd taken ALL of it out of the closet and created a sea of mohair ALL OVER my studio!    He also pulled my neatly displayed bears apart. Again, I gave permission and it's really all OK but now I have to clean it all over again!

Now that I know how a TV inteview goes and what to expect and all I wish they'd come back and do it all over again. I wouldn't be so nervous!

The cameraman must have been very impressed with your supplies and your workroom to have spent so much time setting up and filming there. People don't often understand how very special artist bears are and the work that goes into making them. I'm sure you made quite an impression.

I don't often see movies twice, as I don't have time to see all that I do want to attend, even once! But this was a Day With Grandma and we saw The Last Mimzy (of course!)
2 questions - Daphne, does Joely Richardson have a Brit accent? I sure couldn't tell! I remembered that her Mum is Vanessa Redgrave. About the only actor I've ever known who could pull off an American accent is Hugh Laurie. Totally believable! If her normal speech articulation is British, she'd be second!

And, if any of you will still be seeing the movie, please give me your opinion on this: near the end, when Emma & Noah are riding in Mr White's car, his fiance turns around to ask if they're OK. There's a shot of just Emma, begining to weep. It's night and there's reduced light coming in the car windows.

The shot of Emma lasts just a few seconds so look quickly: look at the fabric of the car seat in the upper left side of the screen. I'd SWEAR that it's VINTAGE LONG PILE FABRIC in a light shade, slightly distressed or swirly, which appears light golden-ish due to being a night shot.
He drives an older car. And a lot of this fabric went to auto and train seats....
Someone tell me I wasn't seeing things!
Mini ted makers can sniff this stuff out in the most unlikely placs...

Looks like it went really well, Daphne!!! Congratulations! I knew you'd be fine once you got started - and as you said your future interviews and filming will be so much easier now that you know what to expect.  bear_grin

Bobbie, you are so funny! I plan to go see it again next week and will have to pay close attention to the inside of the car! As for Joley..... I'll have to ask Laura her opinion as well, but I do believe she has a British accent. She didn't say much so it's hard to be sure.

OK! I think the lady says something like "Are you kids OK?" and Emma turns her face toward the left side of the screen (her right side), with a tear down her cheek and says "I don't want Mimzy to die.." Look at the upper back of the seat above her right shoulder during those moments.

Oh Daphne, how wonderful and you looked just great on the interview.
If you didn't read in my post on the school talk... I mentioned Mimzy to the kids and they all were surprized that I knew the maker.
How cool for you!

Congratulations Daphne you looked awesome, as did your bears and your studio. It was lovely to see you in action for the first time as I had only ever seen still shots of you. Also hearing your voice for the first time was great, you sound nothing like I had imagined though. I watched the clip twice, once in full screen. I am also cross, yesterday I went to our local cinema and they told me that they are NOT getting the Mimzy film. I said to them ' How could you do this to me, my friend Daphne made the bunny' I'd swear that the receptionist at the ticket office thought I was crazy.  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin My son said he would come with me out of town and see the film next week, so I will still get to see it. The woman at the ticket office just sat staring at me when I told her that they are crazy for not getting the film as it would have been a great film for kids over Easter break.
