Hi all, I know she's not a bear, but well she's a..... friend? lol Anyway, she's my latest sculpt which I'll be bringing to the Teddy Bear/Doll Show next month. She's a One Of a Kind, with multimedia wings, tibetan lambswool hair, a wet felted hat, and glass eyes. I noticed that I hadn't gotten any really good pics of her face; I guess I was too eager to get the pics done before the wind blew her off the wooden trunk! I haven't measured her yet, either. Thanks for taking a peek!

she is beautiful...im particulary amazed by her hands....so real looking with their creases etc, wow!
how long have you been sculpting for?
does she have a name?
Wow Kim she is awesome! What a really tallented lady you are. What material is her body made from, does it need baking? You have made such a wonderful job on making her, I just know she will sell quickly. Congratulations, she's wonderful.
Hugs Jane.
Stunning!
Absolutely stunning!!!
I am speechless....you are just so talented!!

Amazing talent you have. She's beautiful.
Thank you so much, you all! It's truly nice to get feedback on her; it's been quite a while since I've done a sculpt and that's about like starting over sometimes.
Greatwon (I'm sorry, I don't know your name and you didn't sign) I've been sculpting since I was a kid, but really only have been sculpting with this kind of clay and making faeries for a couple of years now... and only occasionally.
Jane, she's made from a polymer clay that bakes in your oven at a low temp. It's a popular medium for making OOAK human sculpts, faeries, etc. Some brands can be bought in craft stores, others online.
Karen, the Schaumburg show.... are you going to be there??
Kimberly W.
sorry about that  but i thought you'd guess my name with your mystical powers - the powers of perfect sculpting...
It's Natasha btw. tho i also answer to "hey you"(honest, i cant count the times i've embarrased myself by answering someone elses summons) not to mention asking perfect strangers "what do you reakon...should we get this movie" its amazing really the variety of ways the human face can convey the same basic message....."what are you ...some sort of freak".. while im standing there trying to explain that i thought they were my husband, which never fails to recieve a repeat "freak" face.I tell ya, its a good thing im so lovable or noone would be able to put up with the nutty side of my personality
LOL, I know what you mean, Natasha. Now that you've told me your name, I think, "Oh yeah... I think I did know her name..." lol
I've done that before... I think my husband is the one right alongside me while it's someone else who's slipped in and I turn and say, "Should we get the plain or meatballs for the girls?" Nevermind I'm talking about spaghettios, I then see my husband about 15 feet away, laughing at me. And the person has this scared look on their face. Fun times.... lol

Kim, this sculpt is beyond wonderful. You're so talented! Give us an estimate on her size; I'm curious.
Beautiful work!
Kimberly,
I thought you might be doing the Disney/ Epcot Doll and Teddy bear show. It's in mid-May. That sculpture would go for a very nice price at that show!
Karen
Hi Shelli, thank you! I just measured her and she's about 4.5 inches from her bum to the top of her head; if she were a standing faerie she'd be just over 7.5 inches tall.
Karen, I just noticed, I DID say next month, didn't I?? Agh! Do you know what that means??? I have less time than I thought! Only two weeks! Oh, I WISH I could do the Disney Epcot show in May. It's so far away and plus I don't think we could afford it, unfortunately. Maybe one of these years I can do that. When the kids are older and my eldest can babysit.... hee hee

WOW
Well, I decided that she really needed a base, and I kept thinking of her sitting on a mushroom with her feet dipping into a little pool of water. So here she is on her new base that I've been working on for the last two days... all I need to add is the water but I wanted to take the pics first because I knew I couldn't move it once I put the fake water in. It is getting later, so the light isn't as good. The mushroom has the ribbing on the underside of the top but it's pretty much impossible to see. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to bring the moss all the way down to the bottom of the base or not.
OMG she is beautiful....You are so talented that base just sets her off perfectly!!!
Oh Kim,

Thank you all SO much! Your input is very much appreciated. I've never worked with this fake water stuff before; I love it! It's really added just 'something' to the whole thing, like it's alive now. I feel like all my hard work and back pain was very much worth it now after getting feedback from you all! I was really worried since I haven't sculpted in quite a while!
appreciative hugs,
Kimberly W.
