So, I'm looking into other methods for people to pay me.  How does paypal work?  I assume I need an account to recieve payments?  Where do the payments go to?  I know paypal takes a percentage, has that caused a problem for anyone?  Have you ever had security issues with it?  Thanks,
Katrina

So far, I have had no problems with PayPal and it's very convenient.  Yes, you have to set up an account.  I think there is  more than one kind, but with mine, the payment goes directly into my PayPal account.  Then, when you pay for something through them, the money comes from that account.  You may also have the funds transferred to your bank account very easily.  If you don't have enough money in your account to pay for an item, they will just automatically draw the amount from your bank account.  I love it.

I LOVE Pay Pal too!!!!!   bear_wub  bear_wub  bear_wub

I have a Pay Pal mastercard/debit card as well.... So... as soon as someone pays me through Pay Pal, I can use my card just like a credit card on line or at any real live store that takes credit cards.  I even get a few cents back for each transaction that I use my card for.  It's not a lot, but it does make me feel better!

I love PP too! Cant imagine not having it!
When you go into a store and use your PP card, it you select credit instead of debit, it gives you a few cents back. Also, another nice thing to know, if you use your PP card in a grocery store, post office etc...you can request up to $100 cash back and there is no fee. If you request cash out of an ATM, I get charged $3 ($1 from PP and $2 from my bank). I always get cash at the store and save myself a few dollars!

I hope this helps!

LV PP!! Their fee is about 5% to accept payments into it, as a Business/Premier acct but I pay no fees to pay someone through/out of it.

I don't keep any $$ in it long enough to gain any interest (so I don't know or have forgotten if they even pay interest on funds in the Acct). I request them transferred to my regular business checking acct at my bank, transfer takes a few days to be confirmed.

There are so many sites that offer PP to purchase items, like Amazon and their 1-click system. Done. Paid for. Never had any real problems. A hiccough or 2 but no biggie.

I have had PayPal from the time they began. I remember being nervous about signing on and laugh at myself now. I think the greatest thing is when an auction ends and perhaps it is an international collector who won, the money is in the account immediately. Of course that depends on the buyer and quickly they respond. I offer immediate shipping for PayPal payers.

Katrina...

I have only ever used my Paypal to buy items online, never to sell, but I can tell you that I have never had a problem with Paypal, and I find it soooo convenient and safe to use.  I am always afraid of giving sellers and online shops my actual credit card number, so this eases the worry wart inside of me...

Looks like I should work on getting an account then.  My website offers a secure online checkout, but do you think that customers would be more comfortable with a Paypal option?
