Oh Maria: Knut is the sweetest thing......I hop he grows up to be like the polar bear I made last October.
He was designed from the smaller statue next to him....
Hey Michelle - your polar bear is stunning!!!
I can't help thinking that a lot of us would like Knut to stay just like he is, so we could take him home...
I'll wrestle you for him Shane!
Seriously tho', all the furore and publicity over Knut seems to be creating a BIG focus on endangered species and global warming, so GOOD!!!!

I've seen the story of Knut on the TV, made the news. It is great that Berlin Zoo have taken him on - okay it is not ideal but it is so much better than having him put down. I really do have my doubts sometimes about these so called animal rights people. We are loosing so many of our wildlife as it is.
Okay, had my say on the soap box

That little one is so cute!!!
I hope that he grows up to be a big beautiful bear and help maybe save the species from extinction!!!

Steiff is doing a bear named after Knut , I love these happy endings!
I saw a really interesting story on the tv the other night about the Knut thing- put a whole new light on the situation.....the guy who supposedly said that Knut should be put down was actually trying to save a baby sloth from the same fate at another zoo late last year- he failed, and was misquoted by a German Tabloid... he didnt really want Knut put to sleep at all, just comparing the double standards. Poor guy is now getting hate mails and death threats
here's a link to the story-

Goes to show we can't always believe everything we see on the news
Absolutely, Karen - a week ago my husband picked up a "news" story about Knut - apparently Roman Abramovitch, the mega-rich Russian who bought chelsea football cllub was buying Knut from the Berlin Zoo for ten million euros........just before I ground my teeth to pulp, I realised it was April Fools Day!
Incidentally, there are lots mlore pics, and a video of Knut (and boy, is he growing fast!) on www.spiegel.de
I just wish we lived closer to Berlin - I would love to go and see the little guy!
