Has anyone ever used this product? I have some ideas for it but wanted to inquire first. Hassle? Peeling? Price? Any comments..

Kling Magnetic Paint. This product will turn your wall into a "magic surface" with properties that allow any magnet to stick.  Manufactured by Kling Magnetics Inc in Chatham NY this product is a 100 percent acrylic latex primer that cleans up with water. It drys a light grey and then can be painted or wall papered over.  I just apply the primer over the areas in my miniature settings that I plan to "hang pictures."  After dry, I paint my desired color wall or wallpaper the wall.  Magnets will adhear to the wall even if wallpaper is applied over the primer but do use about 3 coats if you plan to wallpaper over it.

When the wall is finished, I attach a tiny piece of magnetic strip to the back of my miniature pictures or fabric wall hangings.  This thin magnetic strip is about 1/32 inch thin and available at local craft stores and WalMart. The mini pictures and quilts now can be easily re-arranged over and over without any residue left on the wall or wallpaper.

I also use this paint as a primer on wood furniture that will be painted.  (Will not work if you plan to stain the wood, though).  Now, I can glue the thin magnetic strip to the bottom of my miniaure flower vases and, like magic, they are attracted to the furniture.

Kling Magnetic paint is often used in day care centers and by home school parents to create a surface for children to place their paperwork.  To look at the wall, you would never know that "magnets stick" to the wall; there is no shiny surface at all.

This magic paint/primer is fantastic for miniature surfaces!

I purchase my "magnetic paint" light grey primer at my local Michael's craft store in the pint size container that covers about 25 square feet...lots of miniature coverage in a pint!

Have never used it eiter Bobbie but I might give it a go and see how it works, I would assum that it is going to react like any other paint would.

I saw it in a magazine article and thought it was a great idea.  But none of the paint stores in our area carried it.

...I think there's also a product by Rust-Oleum [if I'm spelling that correctly] that does the same thing, Bobbie, and I was contemplating putting it on my son's bedroom wall, ran across it in House Beautiful or Cottage Living or one of those magazines.  I can't wait to try it!

What a great product for miniaturists!!

wow, I would like to know if it's working good, too. I think it's a very useful, I hate tape marks on the wall!

Perhaps!! And then when the !@#$%^&*() machine crashes again, I can just scrape the data I've lost off the wall and load it back in!!!

As this is a doll house maker that had info on her site, I assumed it wasn't meant for heavyduty items. She glues the magnetic strips onto the back of her wall decorations.

I've got loads of rare earth magets and it wouldn't take much to get them to bond. Just a bit of metallic backing.

OK - I'm going to order some and report on its use. I want to try it on something flexible like fabric, too.
