I'm a little sad tonight
. I had to drop my dog off at the Vets today as she is having surgery tomorrow.
She has to have her knee repaired as her knee cap keeps slipping off the bone. It usually goes back in right away when I straighten her leg but last Saturday I had to pop it back in as it wasn't correcting itself. They have to shave the bone and put a fold in her tendon so the the knee stays in place - she is only 1 1/2 and has been on restricted movement since January hoping we didn't have to do surgery. After the surgery there is a 6 week recovery period so I brought her kennel up from downstairs which she isn't fond of but when I'm working I can't have her jumping on furniture. I took a few days off so when she comes home I can be with her for about 4 days.
So the house is really lonely as my hubby is working out of town and my little four legged companion will be in the hospital for at least 3 days.
Its so hard when they have those sad eyes are you're leaving them. I took her favorite blanket along for her to lay on so that made me happy that they let me bring it for her.

Jane I hope all goes well with your dog, I will be sending positive thoughts your way, it's amazing how much company pets are and how you miss them when you have to leave them.
Hugs

So sorry, she will be ok, she knows you love her and that you will be back for her.
I will say alittle prayer for her for surgery!
You will be able to take care of her when she returns.
Sending positive thoughts your way Jane, I know how difficult it is when you have to take your dog to the vet's for surgury. Things will go nice and smoothly and before you know it she will be back home with you. Keep us informed on how things go.
big hugs
Shane
Awww, poor thing. I'm sure everything will be okay and she'll be back running around before you know it.
It is sad and quiet without our pets though for sure
Bless your little puppy and I hope that the surgery goes well and she will soon be home with you.
Hugs
Carolyn
Jane, what a sweet little face!
I hope all goes well with her, and you´ll see: dogs are tough cookies! She´ll be back to normal in no time at all, and she´s probably more worried about you than about herself.
That you were allowed to take her own blanky with her is great! Must be a wonderful vet....
Best wishes for Miss doggy and you
Gaby
Thanks for the positive thoughts and prayers!
I know Ginger will be okay its just a long road to recovery and those sad little eyes! The Vet is going to phone me at work today when the surgery is over and let me know how she did. I really love our Vet (she has been our Vet since I was a little girl and my parents has animals) she is a really special lady and very caring so I know Ginger is in really good hands.
Jane
Oh, I know what a worry it can be for your special companions to have surgery. Such a worry, just like worrying about your human kids. Many prayers for you and Ginger.
Dear Jane: how sad for you and your doggie...I will say a little prayer all goes well...
Hi Jane
It was a little bit of deja vu for me reading your description of your little guys surgery. Believe it or not, I (not my dog) had that exact same surgery last year on my knee!
I hope it goes well!
Cheryl
 At least you know your baby is in GREAT hands then. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll recover quickly from the surgery, and I'm sure she'll be MUCH happier afterwards
Why don't you pop in a cartoon/Disney movie to keep occupied while your little one's still away? That should keep you distracted
Hope the surgery is going well and that your little pup will be fine soon.
Your little guy will be so happy when he is home! I know how hard it is when they aren't. Give him an extra treat for me!
Update!!
Ginger came through the surgery okay and was actually sitting up in he cage this afternoon although still sedated. Vet said the surgery went really good but she won't be able to come home until Saturday!
Can't wait!
