Back Road BearsDad had his third surgery in Boston today for another aortic aneurysm. This is the aneurysm that we thought was causing the pain in his legs making it so that he couldn't walk the past 6 months.
The surgery was long but went smoothly. The surgeon was also able to use a scope to be sure the other repairs he's already done were holding and he said it all looked great. BUT..... he didn't think that the repair of this aneurysm was going to get rid of the pain after "seeing" what was going on during surgery. The bottom line is that he doesn't know what's causing it. Dad's been to other specialists, this seemed the most likely cause of all the pain. This was our only hope and we've been anticipating this surgery for 6 weeks now.
Dad has been in recovery for 4 hours for minor complications, they finally let mom and I in to recovery to see him because it was getting so late and we've been at the hospital for 11 hours waiting... we're walking zombies. He doesn't know yet about the doctor's prognosis. He's going to be so discouraged. The pain and quality of his life has gotten to him so badly, on an emotional level, already. I can't imagine how this is going to effect him.
To add to the stress of the day the nursing home called me about my grandmother. She is going downhill very quickly. There is nothing I can do. I need to be with my mom and dad in Boston. Mom and I are the only family she's got and we can't be there for her. It's sad. And our emotions are being stretched to the limit.
When will all this end?
Could you keep my Mom and Dad, Jean & Frank, in your prayers? One would think God would be sick of hearing about my Dad by now but I'm not giving up!

Bearz by IlzeYou are all in my prayers! I know it is difficult to understand how all of this can benefit in the end, but God's plan is a perfect one. We have trust that He knows what He is doing and I trust that things will get better.....I pray that you may receive the strenght to cope and deal with things one day at a time.
