On the wine farm Buitenverwachting, once again the annual bear show took place. With the cape having had rainy cold weather, it was a good day with the sun shining.
The show is well attended and many visitors sit under the large old oak trees enjoying picnic lunches. To add to the festive atmosphere the "Cape coon carnival" is there to entertain you with their music.
Like me, all the participating vendors had a busy enjoyable day. The visitors to the show are also asked to bring along their teddy bears, and these can then be entered into various competitons where they can win a prize. Categories range from the bear with the longest arms, the fattest bear, or oldest bear.
This is my stand.

SOme of the students who did the class I gave while in Cape Town. One student was in her 80's. She would not be photographed, as she was in the Israeli army and did not want her picture circulated anywhere. She was the most amazing character and I did admire her. I think some students might have got a bit frustrated with her, but I did remind them that they would one day also get old !!!!
All in all I had an enjoyable time in Cape Town, thou it is always good to be back home.
Lynette
Lynette thanks for sharing the pictures and for the report. It looks a great place to sell bears and the music must have been great. It looks a beautiful area with the mountains in the background. What a shame after all these years that the old lady feels that she still needs to hide her face, great that a lady that age enjoyed our love of making bears...as we say here 'good on her!
Hugs Jane.

Lynette, great pictures. Looks like you were having a good time "gettin' funky" with the Carnival Singers...maybe there's another career in your future.
Great report, Lynette . . . that looks like so much fun!
Thanks for sharing your photos Lynette and it looks like a great time was had by all.
Hugs
