I received a Hobby Lobby gift card for Christmas this year from my father in law. This was a wonderful gift, of course, but like a two year old, I found myself thrilled with the box it came in. I love little metal boxes like those "Altoids" come in and always save them because I want to make something with them someday. The Hobby Lobby gift card box was similar to these, but wider, longer and a bit more shallow.
I'm excited because I have finally made something with one of the boxes I have saved!! I made a needle case with it. I have made mine to hold and organize felting needles, but I may make another for my sculpting needles.
It has a magnetic strip inside so the needles are easy to get in and out and they don't get mixed up. Anyway, I thought I'd share.
What a fab idea! if I ever start needle felting, I'll be nicking this one Not sure about finding a box though...
Wow, you're so good. I jab all my needles in sponge and throw the others in a band-aid box.
How cool is that? I love creative people. They're so full of great ideas. Thanks for posting, Tami!
That's a great idea! So nice and neat and a perfect use for those tins we've been saving!
That's so cool Tami! I use altoids tins to hold my mini pattern pieces! They all smell like mints!! (the patterns...not the bears )

COOL ! ! ! Now . . . if someone would just give me a gift certificate.
Of course getting a gift card is the best way to get a tin like this, they actually sell the tins for .99 at Hobby Lobby.
Glad you like the idea. I was pretty please with myself. I sure someone somewhre has thought of something like this before, but I was pleased I had come up with it on my own.
