Sue Ann,
I'm sorry you hurt yourself and I'm glad it's not worse.  You know, I do that all the time - get out of bed and go downstairs without turning on the lights. I always count the stairs as I go down.  I've been lucky so far, but maybe I'll re-think it!

                                          hugs,

                                          Brenda

We now have a night-light plugged into a kitchen outlet, so the wall and I will not be meeting in the dark like that again!!

OUCH!!  Oh my gosh...that's such a shame!! They do sell fantastic cover up makeups...like Dermablend that would work and not look cakey at all.

I did this once too, but it was in a lit room!! The bathroom door was halfway opened and I was in a rush and the door and the wall all blended out of my peripheral vision.  I turned quickly to walk straight out of the room and took the door right between the eyes...I thought I broke my nose when I hit it.  Total klutz move.

Oh SueAnn, I know that hurt as I have done the same thing. If you have a store near you that sells homeopathic meds see if you can find some Arnica it will help with the bruising. It is available in a salve or pills. With it being your eye the pills would probably be better.

Oh Sue Ann that is horrible, I have done the same thing, but not as badly as it sounds like you did.

I thought you were going to say you took the wrong meds in the dark! Thank God you didn't. That reminded me of a woman I know who accidently took her husbands prostate medicine bear_shocked  She was in the hospital and in a coma type thing for a couple days. But she is fine now...

SueAnn-s-black-eye.jpg"The Eye" . . . up close and personal.  Actually, the swelling has gone down a lot, so I'm hoping it will look better by the weekend.

OMG!  You really did yourself in!

Perhaps you should just make up the other eye to match and start a new fashion statement (stranger things have happened!)

I was going to suggest you try installing some night lites -- I too get up in the middle of the night to get meds or make a bathroom trip, and I hate to turn on the lights because then it takes me longer to get back to sleep.  We've had night lites since my daughter was a baby so I could take care of her without turning on a big light too......couldn't live without them.

Take care, drive safely!!

bear_shocked  bear_shocked  bear_shocked   Owchie - that looks rather painful.  I have found bruises can be quite artistic, I had the HUGEST bruise (very sore, I cried at night times   ) right on my bum after falling on the edge of the bath about a year ago.  Ouch, I would have shared photos like Sue Ann, but I am certain that NO-BODY would want to see that     (

Oh Sue Ann.  Ouch.  You could try warm ,not hot, moist compresses to help the blood reabsorb.  If you still have some "color" around your eye maybe you could match the left eye with eyeshadow like you "meant" to have this look.....kind of punk rockish new age?

Seriouly though, try the warm compresses.  Best fo luck to you.  You really did a number on yoruself.

Yikes! That makes ME hurt! Paul couldn't have made your eye look like that if he tried!
Aw, Sue Ann... you will make a lasting impression at the show. New collectors won't soon forget you! bear_original
I'm assuming that your vision is ok?

Boy, Sue Ann, that looks awfully painful...and you say the swelling has gone down! That looks really serious; have you been to the doctor? Take good care of it.

DebbieD Posts: 3,540

Just I'd be very, very careful if applying makeup.  Afterall, that still looks very injured to me.

I like Judi's suggestion to go 'punk' for the show with matching eyes bear_laugh

Do take care

Yes, and be sure to spike your hair and spray it some outlandish color too!!

See, this is making the best of a bad situation!!

Sue Ann,  You don't have a black eye, you have an eye in wonderful shades of red and yellow.  Well, I guess it would be wonderful on a canvas, but not on an eye.  I hope you'll be toned down considerably by the weekend.
