For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Hi! My name is Ruth and I make and sell bears under the name Ladybug Bears. I live in Huntingdon County PA but am having a terrible time establishing in the area. We are rural and have no major shops in which to place my bears. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me get off the ground. Thanks.
Hi Ruth (fellow PA'er)!
If you're in an area without shops (for varying reasons some like to use retailers & some don't) my suggestion would be use the internet to it's fullest in order to promote and sell your bears. Using a web site, blog, eBay, Bid4Bears, Bearpile, TT Showcase/Friends section all to promote your stuff. Send in quality photos to magazines in order to get your name out there. You might not ever sell consistently to your own area...but you could have collectors all over Europe!
Looking forward to your pics!

Hi and welcome Ruth!
There are many ways to sell you bears if you are willing to step outside of your comfort zone. I don't sell my bears in any shops... but mostly thru the internet. When I first started, I did not have a website, I only sold thru eBay. There are now a few other sites thru which you can sell you bears: Right here on TT, http://www.Bearpile.com and http://www.Bid4Bears.com
I also do a few bear shows.... I am lucky, I have one close to my home twice a year. Oddly though... the two I am doing this year are out of state LOL!
You can also submit your photos to the 2 teddy bear magazines in the country: Teddy Bear & Friends and Teddy Bear Review.

One thing that is absolutely necessary when selling your bears on the internet is a camera... digital if possible (as it will save you money!)
