Does anyone know the exact steps to "uninstall" Internet Explorer 7?  Hubby has been having all kinds of problems with it, and wants to get rid of it - help!

I hate IE 7 and recently removed it too.  Here are the steps I used and it worked fine.

1) Click on the start button on the task bar

2) Click on control panel

3) Click on Add/Remove programs

4) Scroll until you find IE 7 and click on it to highlite

5)Click on remove

I know how to uninstall it.

Go to control panel
add or remove Programs
Then on the left hand side click Add/Remove Window Components
scroll down the box to Internet Explorer and untick the box.
Press next and go through the motions to uninstall

Should sort out your problems. You can reinstall it the same way just click the box and go through the installing prosess.

Hope it helped,

Richy~

Thanks for all the advice and I now understand how to remove it.  My next question is, if my hubby's computer came with Internet Explorer 7 and he deletes it, there is nothing for the computer to go back to like Internet 6 etc.  Will it completely delete it from the computer? How does he go about re-installing it if it's deleted from the computer?  Please bear with me for all the stupid questions -neither of us are very computer literate.

Brenda, you should be able to just download and install IE 6 in place of the old IE7.  That is what I did and it works.  Here is a link to the download.

Brenda I just wouldn't reinstall IE at all      ,  I always removed it from my system and never used it.   It forever gave me problems.  I used Netscape and then when Firefox came along I switched to it,  Firefox is by far the best browser (Just my opinion mind you  bear_grin ).

But you can download the older version of IE again if you want to  as previously suggested.

Thanks Shane - it's my hubby's computer that's acting up.  I have Internet explorer 7 and I've been lucky - no problems at all.  I've passed on all the advice and he can figure out what he wants to do.
