My Dad collapsed today and was rushed to hospital. He had heart surgery last year so I was really worried. Got to the Emergency and they told me to wait and someone would come out to talk to me - more panic!!! The person who came out to talk to me was my Moms neighbour who drove her to the hospital. I was of course expecting the worst.
He is okay but they are keeping him for observation and he isn't really happy about that. I think he just did to much yard work and it is really hot here. Hopefully he will be home after the weekend.
Jane
Jane, best wishes to your dad and I hope you are doing OK through this as well! I've had scares like this with my dad (he has HBP) and it's truly a numbing feeling

Jane,
Those calls about your dad being rushed to the hospital... the sitting and waiting for answers... all the scary thoughts that go through your head.... it's awful. I've been there far too many times in the last 14 months! I'm relieved to hear he's going to be OK. No, they don't like to lay around in a hospital bed and do nothing and they are convinced they are invincible. Hopefully your dad will learn not to over do it next time. (Though, if he's like my Dad, he'll never learn!)
Hugs and prayers to you and your family!
Daphne

Thanks Kimberly and Daphne,
My Dad is such a work-a-holic at 75 years old it scares me. He was an autobody man by trade and he still fixes cars for people. He will never slow down and really if he wasn't busy doing something he probably would go down hill faster. He just needs to learn to do less and spread it out over a few days but I doubt if he will ever learn - stubborn old fart!!! I told him he's not allowed to scare us anymore and he agreed until the next time.
Jane
I'm glad he is okay, Jane. What a scare, though. Big hugs for you!
Oh Jane! Thinking of you, your Dad and your family Hun! All of our prayers and good thoughts are with you!

So glad to hear that your Dad is out of danger Jane. When someone has been so "busy" all their life, it is so very hard to get them to slow down.
