browniedisaster0061.jpgbrowniedisaster0011.jpgbrowniedisaster0041.jpgmy husband never ever cooks or bakes, untill that is... today, he came home from work, took a brownie mix out of the cupboard and added 750ml of water, he shouts me in as it looked abit runny, when asked did u read the instructions he said yes.... but he was supposed to add 75ml of water, so to thicken it up hes added a whole tub of coco powder, a packet of cornflour and began to wisk....
as you can see in the pics theres a thick choccy goooo splatted all over my walls, i think he got the wrong idea when i asked him 2 yrs ago, could he decorate the kitchen, hes still at it now, giggling away, and iv been cleaning all day... "git!"
and not only that but i had a small stash of cardboard in the kitchen for when i make my patterns, thats in the bin... thought he was helping.....
"AHHHHH, GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN!"
and no... i wont be sampling the brownies!!

bear_shocked  I'd be making him clean that up!  Is that some sort of mixer for mixing drinks he's got ahold of??  Wonder what on earth possessed him to turn into Suzie Homemaker?  I'd be laughing, but no, I don't think I'd be sampling those brownies either  bear_whistle

See Ladies -
That is why I stay out of the Kitchen!  Once in awhile I might make a loaf of bread, but that all comes out of the box and goes into the bread machine!
That is also why I have the phone numbers for Resturant and Pizza Place right next to the phone!  I also make sure that I have a good stock of frozen dinners on hand.

Oh my GOSH!
Yes, husbands can be so "helpful" can't they?  The day I came home from the hospital with my youngest, my husband decided that he would help out by making some breaded fish fillets for dinner.... I keep all my staple dry goods in big steel containers... I mean, it's pretty obvious to me what they are just by opening the lid, but not to the hubs.  I'm upstairs laying down with my newborn, and I start to smell this lovely carmel aroma... then screams from the kitchen.... He had coated the fish with POWDERED SUGAR rather than flour!
What a mess... we actually had to throw out the pan he used!

   Powdered sugar??      Oh man, I bet it smelled lovely til it started burning....

Jare, what a smart fella you are to have this all sussed all ready  bear_grin !!

And Matilda, I'm actually married to one of the 'mythical' creatures!!   bear_laugh   My hubby I'm happy to say, is an excellent chef and usually tackles all of our holdiday feasts.   bear_thumb   I can cook, and am actually quite good at it, but I'll happily get out of the way for him as he truly enjoys it.

As for the leather brownies...thank heavens the dog had the good sense to turn its nose up too  bear_whistle

I, too, have a guy that can cook and bake...   he makes the absolute best carrot cake in the world.... every year for my birthday....yummmm..with real cream cheese icing and all...

He is pretty anal about messes and whatnot...so is also very tidy when doing it..I just go away..because I tend to think I need to help but I am just in his way .... besides..he knows what he is doing... and he cleans up....

That was pretty funny to see....

The dog passes on the leather brownies, but give that dog a piece of leather to chew on and watch him go to town!!!
