We had a fabulous time in Las Vegas and at the IDEX. We got there just in time for the TT meeting and it was so nice to meet everyone in person. Mindy couldn't find a poster of George so she brought one of Johnny (Depp) to join us! He looked like he was having a good time too
A few brought teddies with them and Ellen, a bear atist from Canada, brought her favorite antique teddy. Tami (Boston Bears) brought one of her amazing needlefelted polar bears that was half completed, so we could see the work in progress. I was so enthralled with it and her workmanship that I completely forgot about my camera! Jan Nethercutt showed us one of her amazing tiny teddies, which was just under 1" and again......I was too busy admiring, to remember to take a photo.
The banquet was great and it was exciting to hear the winners names being called. Sitting beside me, was a clothing designer from Bearington and it was really interesting to talk to someone who has the same love of bears and creating but who's job is so different. We had a lot of fun rehashing the show & sale. The conversation was a lot of: "Did you see this??" and "OMG did you see that????"
Big congratulations to all of the winners!!!!! Especially Aleta, way to go!!!
Thank you, Terrie.
It was so lovely to meet you in person!! Matching a TT picture with a live person is just the best!! To meet Mindy and Kellie Love from Teddy Bear and Friends magazine and you and Judi and Mary.....it was such a grand time!!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta

Congrats everyone well done.
Great pictures Terrie ! But, hey where are you ? I bet you had a wonderful time .
Hi Terrie,
Great photos! We had such an awesome time in Las Vegas. I was actually prepared not to like Las Vegas with all the flash and gambling but to the contrary I can't wait to return. There is so much to see there and everything is so grand and over-the-top!
I am so glad I was able to meet you and several other artists. I just wish there was more time.
A big congrats to all the nominees and Public Choice winners!
I will have photos to post just as soon as my camera is sent back from Caesars Palace.
Where's one of you, Terrie!

I am sorry that I missed you as well! Next time for sure. I didn't get any pictures of me, I didn't even think of handing the camera to someone else, so that I could be in the picture as well. Next time for sure on that one too!
Great pictures Terrie ! But, hey where are you ? I bet you had a wonderful time
Still behind the camera I DID have a wonderful time! It was the first time that I had been to a bear show and it was just SO nice to meet so many "bear & doll" people, not to mention how cool it was to meet some of the TT'ers as well as Mindy & Kellie.
Judi, we had an awesome time in Vegas as well. I had been there about 4 years ago and couldn't wait to go back but John was like you, he was prepared to not like the noise and the mobs of people but he loved Vegas! and is already talking about what we will do on the next trip .....which will be in the winter....when it is much cooler

Gosh, I'm still in awe of Las Vegas. It's sooooo much better than I thought it would be.
Winter sounds like a great time to go again Terrie. Did you hear that it got to 116 degrees in Vegas today?
Terrie and Judi, we were also shocked that we liked Vegas as much as we did. I'm a skier and have been to Reno -- which is close to the slopes -- multiple times, and the strip there (charming as it is) just can't compare to the variety and multitude of offerings in Vegas, especially when it comes to huge attractions, spectacles and shows, many of which are family-friendly (amusements parks, arcades, magic, Cirque, off-Broadway musicals, you name it.) We had so much fun, we're actually in the midst of planning a trip with the kids there, in just a few week's time.
The temperates were boiling hot, but then, it was 103 in Chico today, so we're kinda used to it. And besides, it's a DRY heat!
HA! Shel, so you're going back . I'm jealous! I wanna go back too
My mom and step dad went to the Cirque Du Solei (spelling?) and they saw the child -friendly show.....called......Mystique, or something like that. Anyway, they are still going on about how fantastic it was. It was also $90 a ticket but if you have time to shop around or call for tickets early the same day you want to see the show you can sometimes get them for 1/2 off.
Have fun!

Lucky! You Californians get that dry heat. Here in Wisconsin when it's 90 people are baking and groaning but it usually is accompanied by humidity which penetrates right down to the bones.
Did you hear that it got to 116 degrees in Vegas today?
I heard that, and my first thought was "We got out just in the nick of time!" We drove down and our vechicle ran on hot the whole time, I also heard that a little town in Arizona, which we drove through, was over 120!
We wanted to come home through Reno & Lake Tahoe but just didn't have enough time.
I went to Cirque de Solei when I was there before, it was fabulous! and I would go again in a minute. There is so much happening and the performers are just incredible.

85 is a hot day here! Ocasionally it gets up to 90 and you should here the people complaining then
Hmmmm......it might be a DRY heat, but I dare ya to lay hands on anything black We've got the same humidity as Judi, though, and its positively awful when the temps go over 100* with all the humidity.
Thanks for posting all the pics :photo: Its a lot of fun putting faces to names, and seeing how much fun was had by all. So Johnny Depp made it to the party, eh?
Terrie, thank you for posting these fotos!
It just proves to me, what a great time you had :)
