bear_original  Given that none of us are monks, who were killed back in some obscure October on Friday the 13th, I should say the day's gonna be a lucky one  bear_thumb

And for added thought...... in Guatemala, Friday the 13th isn't the unlucky day.  Theirs is Saturday the 14th  bear_laugh   Dates and days really are irrelevant!  bear_flower

in our country you wear black to a funeral, in Korea the color of respect is white.....Does anyone else have some really interesting odd facts to share?

Great topic Debbie

My fortune today said that Friday the 13th is not a day of death etc.  bear_ermm  It symbolizes the end of the "old" ways and a new beginning  bear_tongue

I'm having a great Friday the 13th as well!  My daughter had a little demonstration of all the cute stuff she's learned at her cheerleading camp... it was SO adorable!     My little guy showed off his moves for my Mom and I at the skateboard park.  He;'s 4 so he goes down the ramps on his little butt!   bear_tongue  Tonight we are headed off to hear my oldest play bass with his band at a great music store in Kent, Ohio.

It's funny... I have had a couple of life altering events happen to me in the past on Friday the 13th, that have required BIG decisions, and they have always turned out for the BEST... so I'm with you Lisa... I think its always been sort of a lucky day for me as well.

OOO... I've got an interesting little factoid related to superstitions ... my grandmother always used to (and probably still DOES!) keep an acorn or two in her pocket.  They are supposed to slow down the aging process!   bear_ermm   It is also said that keeping an acorn on your window sill will ward off lightening.  I know that one has to do with an old Norse legend.. I think it was Thor who took shelter under an oak tree that kept him alive.

Aaahhh!!!  Hey, I've got an oak tree right outside my bear room windows.  I think I'll be picking up some acorns this fall ~ for windows and pocket.  Can you imagine customs when they ask to empty your pockets?

Saaay, you're four year old's got the right idea about going down the ramps on his butt.  I think even I can do that on a skateboard  bear_laugh   ... maybe  bear_sad
