I'm tooting Lisa's horn, 'cause she's too darn modest to do it herself!
I just got my very first copy of Art Doll quarterly (fantastic magazine by the way) so I took the time to sit down for a cover to cover read. Imagine my surprise when I turn to the last page and it's a FULL PAGE write up on our own Lisa Bunting Thomas of Twincubs....."hey I know her"! Not only is it a fantastic write up for Lisa, crossing over into a doll magazine, BUT I'm sure it will bring curious eyes over to teddy bear artists as well. How cool is her creation, Stella Glitzgerald?!
Congrats Lisa!!!

Thanks Chrissi for posting my article. Yes, I'm a little shy about attention like this but I really love it! I haven't stopped smiling yet.
Thanks to everyone else for your kind comments. My husband thinks this is the ugliest thing I ever made but even he took the magazine into work today to show it off.
Anyway, it was a fun challenge and I can't wait until their next one!!!
Way to go Miss Lisa!!!!!

Tickled PINK for you, Lisa!
Were all of these lumpy spots (forehead, cheeks) part of the gourd or are they the Creative Paperclay parts? I've had 2 packets of that in my stock for ages, just never got around to trying it yet.
THX & CONGRATS!!!
Brilliant, Lisa!!!
And good for you, trying out something SO different..
huggies

The "lumpy parts" are part of the Paper Clay. Here's some photos of Stella in the making:
Anyway, I find that Paper Clay is pretty easy to work with and have enjoyed using it. I plan to do some more Vintage Halloween and Christmas characters this Fall just like I did last year mixing Paper Clay with mohair, felt and other fabrics.
Thanks Kim and Maria for your comments too!!!
Wow, Lisa, is there anything you can't do? Congratulations on your article.

Thanks for posting the in progress shots. So cool to see.
I love Paperclay too, one of the great things about it is that you can sculpt it right over just about anything.
Wow!! Congratulations Lisa, you are so clever
