Some loser has hacked into my Yahoo group email that I use to send out all of update
emails and has sent a dirty email out.
GEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I don't know what to do now.
Does anyone know a good email list place to use, where the customer can sign up or cancel on their own????
Any suggestions, who do you use?
Thanks, just had to vent....................
Oh Tami, what a neusance for you. Don't people have anything better to do with there time
I am using freewebs premium servious and they have a simple one that you set up that goes to my normal mail.
There is a siye that has forms in code if you can set it up yourself
Sory I couldn't be nore help.
Tami - was your yahoo group a privately listed one? We've had 3 personal groups (for DH & me & 2 for family) for over 6 years that've never been accessed by others. They do not appear listed antwhere online or on yahoo and the only way ppl can sign in or join is by Invitation and then be Accepted or Rejected for membership.
If you're not private I'd suggest creating a new one and switch your private list members over to it, sending them the new url. The 'Make Private' option appears after you've created the group and is 'shown' for only as long as it takes to get to step 2 and click it as a Private Listing.
I just had Ilze & Jacques put a qualifier on my site's Guestbook as some real filth came through this week; all posts now need to be Accepted or Rejected before appearing. It's just what we must do to be vigilant in this free & open marketplace.

Thanks all, I had that email group for like 8 yrs and this was the first time that has ever happened, and its NOT going to happen again.
I'm changing it all over to go through my secure email provider.
I'm having everyone email me that wants to join my new list and changing all the old Yahoo Email links on my website.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
What a bummer, I am sorry...hope you get it straightened out....
hugs

Annoying isn't it? I had this happen to my yahoo mailing list twice recently. I have now changed the settings so that I have to approve any new memberships.
Best of luck
