After losing our dog to cancer back in may we decided to get a new puppy. We did a round trip of 8 hours to pick her up on Friday. Her name is Pidge and she is a six week old lurcher puppy. She has settled in so quick it seems as though she has always been here. The size differents between her and our Deerhound Myrtle makes me laugh.
Pidge is absolutely adorable Chloe! What a precious picture of you and your little girl as well!

Chloe, here is a poem I keep after I lost my best friend, my poodle Lily...
The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its
many beautiful colors. Just this side of the
Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills
and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this
special place. There is food and water aplenty
and every day is warm and sunny. The old and
frail animals are young and strong again. And all
they do all day is play. There is only one thing
missing. They are not with their special person
who loved them in life. So, each day they run and
play until the day comes when one suddenly
stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches!
The ears are up! And then this one suddenly runs
from the group!
You have been seen, and when you and your
special friend meet, you take them in your arms
and embrace. Your face is kissed again and
again, and you look once more into the adoring
eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together,
never again to be separtated.
Awww he is so sweet, your little girl is too.... lovely picture of the three of you.

Thanks guys, she really is soooooo cute, but her teeth are like needles and i already have a few puncher wounds.
A lurcher is a dog who can be crossed with a deerhound, greyhound, whippet, collie or bedlington terrier. Our pup is a lurcher lurcher cross though.
In the UK lurchers can be looked down upon a little because they are associated with poaching and travellers.
But having had lurchers all of my life I would never have any other breed. They are the most obedient and loyal dogs ever. I love them.
Wow, too cute and I learned about a new breed!
I used to have a Derrhound when I was a kid and they are great dogs. Although I went a little small when I got my little pomeranian LOL
Thanks for the pics

What a sweetie, Chloe - with the first photo I thought you'd got yourself a wolfie (MUST be some wolfie somewhere in the mix!). I don't envy you the punctures - I still have tiny scars from when Nounours was a baby BUT - you are gong to have so much fun - ENJOY!
