This is Bessie, the latest in my series of 'Timeless Teds'. I thought I'd take a break from the clowns this week and work on a classic bear for the Hugglets show which takes place in London in a couple of weeks. In all honesty, this hasn't been my favourite fabric to work with, it's Schulte and it's one of those more springy matted piles, so I've been a bit grumpy while I've been making Bessie and I think it shows in her expression! She's a big bear at 20" and she's wearing a very pretty vintage crocheted collar which I have tea-stained to a lovely deep ivory colour, which complements the nutmeg shades of her mohair beautifully.

I love her, Paula! Grumpy expression and all!!! The mohair looks wonderful. Sorry to hear it was tough to work with.........

She is very beautiful Paula, and her fur looks gorgeous. Sometimes those ones that are hardest to work with turn out super. At least she was worth all that effort.

Grumpy Bessie is a hit???!! bear_shocked My, my! Wonders will never cease! I was sure this grouchy girl would draw a few polite negatives!!
