Can anyone tell me what is causing these 'marks' to appear in all of my Word docs?
I must've clicked something that I wasn't aware of and now it's driving me crazy!
It's in/on all of my Word docs.
I thought it was some type of Auto Formatting but I cannot identify it so cannot get rid of all of these little marks..
Looks like you accidentally hit "View" and then "Outline." Go into "View" and hit "Normal" and see if it goes away.
My suggestion...
Hugs!
Hi Bobbie,
You may have accidentally turned on the Paragraph Marks. There should be a little icon on your formatting bar that looks like this ¶. If you click it again you will turn the Paragraph Marks off.
I hope that fixes it for you.
Hugs,
My Hubster just confirmed that it shows and hides non-printing characters like carriage returns , tabs etc. (whisch can be useful if you have problems
printing )

Thx all - I finally found the ¶ in some listing and turned it to Hide/Off.
I knew that they wouldn't PRINT but they were distracting to try to work in a doc with them there.
I need to submit a column and didn't know if they would show up in a transmitted doc as opposed to a print copy.
I knew I could count on Help of any sort here on TT; we're such a diverse group that anything imaginable can be answered by at least one member here!!
Ruth - No FAIR!!! You're a darling pre-teen but how would we recognize you today???? (LV those eyes!!!)
We were all cute at that age, even if awkward gawky cute, but most of us've posted more current pix, double chins and all.
Come out, come out!!!
Ha Ha Bobbie, I wondered what you meant about Ruths photo (I am her sister) then I realised she was hiding it under her avatar photo LOL and I can tell you that that photo is probably 35+ years old , and I can say that cos I am her older sister. Actually you probably would recognise her, her face has not changed that much, but I think she has stopped wearing hair slides now!
Tiny Hugs
Gail
PS Love you Ruthie
That is so cool. Bear making sisters!!! And both so talented!!!
Tiny hugs to both of you!
