I am looking around for a new job, and I found an advert in the paper for "Student Veterinary Care Assistant".

The salary they will provide is £11079 p.a. and will rise to £13405 p.a. upon completing and passing the training course.

This means that I will be taking a big pay cut (after buying our house in December) and I will need a second job.

I would be working a 38 hour week at the vets, on a rota. On top of that I need to do at least another 14 hours in another job (basing pay on minimum wage of £5.40) to make my salary back up to the £15000 that I earn now.

I also have to make time for my home life with Rob and Dino too.

I'm in a bit of a pickle.

Any advice?

Hmmm...  that is a pickle!  Would you be wanting to make the money up at the weekends or during the week? Usually the scabbiest jobs have the best pay for the hours, so something like early morning cleaning or something like that might do it... or do what I used to do: Sundays at Boots is time and a half bear_tongue  I don't know much more than that... there used to be a job thing for students where people would text a company questions and they paid students to research the answers and text them back, but that's all I can remember! bear_wacko

... I'm sure other people will have better suggestions XD  In the meantime i would say that if this is a better job for you, even if it does start at a lower wage, it is well worth the temporary loss of funds bear_original  Good luck!

I would be working on a rota, so I would need to do something where I could change my hours as and when needed.
