newbeardesign.jpgHi everyone,

I'm working on a new bear design and he needs a long neck - not a thin neck though, almost the same thickness as the body (see my concept sketch!  bear_grin )  I'm not sure how to go about this pattern - anyone have some ideas or tips for me?  I want a seemless look between the head and neck, so not sure whether I can even make the neck jointed or not......

Any help is appreciated bear_original

I think I would use fabric discs that are the  same size as the jointing disc instead of gathering the neck together. I don't think I explained this well but I'm sure someone else will jump in whose mind is working better than mine on Monday morning.

A back Tammy sent this lint to Monica Spicers website where she offers several tutorials and one of them was the elongated neck. The tutorials were good and I bookmarked the site. Maybe this is what you're looking for.

I did a search - Kelly gives the bestest information! Even if you don't want a double-jointed neck you can still do a single joint following this method and you'll end up with a nice smooth line.
