Just wondering if anyone can share some advice on selling through Ebay, setting prices, how many photos for each bear, how long to list for etc.
How does the Feedback rating work, I'm a first time user and it's all very complicated...or is it???
Hi Kim,
I've been selling on Ebay for about 5 years and I love it, but there definitely are ups and downs, according to the seasons - summer is slow, tax time is slow, Xmas season is a little slower etc. I have my own template that I add pictures to, before loading it through the hosting site, www.auctiva.com and sending it to Ebay. I add about a dozen pictures because if you use a hosting site, ebay doesn't charge you for your pictures. I hope I'm not confusing you.
Ebay used to charge $1.00 for 6 pictures and $1.50 for 12 pics and they charge if you want to supersize them when someone clicks on the picture. They also c harge 35 cents for a gallery picture to show up in the listings, which is really a necessity. Maybe someone who lists through ebay can confirm the prices for you.
I list for three days, because I'm really impatient. When I first started I listed for 5 days and it took about 6 months to build up a customer base. Feedback is left by both the buyer and seller, at the end of the transaction. The goal, of course, is to keep your feedback at 100%. For the most part, people are good, but there is always some customer who likes to stir the pot LOL! If you are really unhappy, and leave a negative feedback, there is always the risk the other party will leave you one as well - it's not a perfect system that's for sure. I've been very lucky and have a lot of repeat customers, so that's not too much of an issue for me.
It was much simpler when I started - they have made loads of changes and it's been a learning curve, but I love the freedom to make exactly what I want. I set my prices with the reserve at the lowest price I'm willing to take for my bears. If you run into any problems, feel free to PM me, and good luck!
hugs,
Brenda

Kim, up at the top left corner on every page is a button called Library. Subjects are grouped there when the accumulation on any particular subject elicits several threads. Here's the list of eBay subjectS:
