rainyday.jpgAs you may or may not know, we Brits are reknowned for our fascination with the weather, and it got me thinking, what with us TT'ers living all over the globe, I thought it might be fun to share a little 'weather watch' through our windows.

It's been dismally dark here in Kent today.  The rain has poured and poured and poured and ... you get the picture?    Pretty grim eh? Talk about rain stopped play!

So, go on, you know you can't resist, why not point your digicam through the window and share your weather with us all!

o.k, I'll play  bear_grin  .  It has been a cloudy, windy day here and the sky is getting grey.  I think it will rain.  But, like we say in Nova Scotia, " Don't like the weather  ? ...wait 5 minutes !"  Here is a view from my sewing room.

p.s.  Paula , I LOVE your windows. They are beautiful .

All you folks getting all that rain are making me jealous!  Here in Cincinnati, Ohio and the rest of the Southeast USA are experiencing the worst drought in history.  If things don't improve soon, some areas will run out of drinking water!  It is dry, dry, dry.  EVerytime we are supposed to get rain, the clouds dry up and vanish just before they reach us.  This has been going on for months and months.  Trees look terrible.  Its depressing.  I have never looked forward to rain so much in my life!

Rain Rain go away
go visit someone else today

the NOAA site said 50% rain and whenever they say that its 100%.....

I am trying to move the sewing room to the cottage.....I'm melting......

We get between 60 an 80 " a year, but i know Aleta gets tons more.....what about you guys???

Connie, they say this is an el Nina year so wont you guys get a lot of rain?  I hope so, they say on the news that Atlanta might be bone dry if it doesn't rain soon and they will have to import water.....

this happens in California, not Atlanta and not Ohio

hope you get some of our wet stuff really soon.....

Beautiful day in Melbourne...blue skies, fluffy clouds and warm sun.

This is the park across the road from my front studio window and where I sit at my computer.

And looking from the back studio window to my courtyard where I often sit and sew in the warmer months...and sometimes paint.

Sounds as though the best place to be at the moment is Melbourne!  Blue skies, fluffy clouds and warm sunshine = perfect Paula weather!

Tammy, thank you for the window compliment!  bear_tongue

Melissa, so sorry to hear about your flooding ... I hope everything is cleaned up for you and comfy again very soon x

Connie, it's so wierd to hear about your parched spell in the midst of our downpour ...  and then there's Lorraine on the other side of the world in New Zealand and the view from her windows looks much the same as the view from mine here in the UK ... isn't the world an amazing place?

Loving the pics and info .. keep 'em coming, it's fascinating! bear_flower

Gaby :rose:

We are on the other side of Melbourne, probably 45 mins on the freeway.
Hey it's lovely and green there Gaby, I wish my garden looked like that in autumn, but I'm afraid unless we get some rain it will be a dirt bowl again this summer. I love that pine tree....I could really go to town on that at Christmas!!!

Sandi, oopse! Sorry for my typos!
That huge tree is a serbian spruce...they grow all slimm and this one is extremely nice.
What I did not understand is this

..I could really go to town on that at Christmas!!!

...sorry, but some english expressions are hard to understand... I guess it has something to do with a huge christmas tree full of candles, angel hair & co, right?

Gaby I just love decorating our Christmas tree and I have always wished I had a big one in my garden that I could decorate...yours would be perfect! Mind you I would probably need a very tall ladder!!!

Morning-2.jpgmorning.jpgIt's a gorgeous morning in Colorado, there isn't any snow on Pikes Peak.  My grass is even still fairly green.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-469-Small.jpgWell, you lucky ladies that live somewhere in this world where it actually rains!!!!!!!!
We're into October and so far this year we have probably only had one week of rain, if that.....the drought in Australia is hitting hard, many farmers have walked off the land...luckily I've learnt over the past 25 years to grow only drought tolerant plants...here's some pics of my garden..amazing what you can do with not much water..

Ahhhh... The weather!  This afternoon it was hot and sunny , temperature around 90 degrees. Then all of a sudden. The sky is filled with clouds and I hear "tink..tink..tink"... on the roof. I look outside and it is blowing wind and rain pouring down. With hail in some neighborhoods that were golf ball size.
hail1.jpg

The hail was coming down so hard, it was ripping the leaves right off the trees.
hail2.jpg

The sidewalks were flooded over with water.
hail3.jpg

One and a half hours later....A beautiful sunset    bear_thumb
