I posted some brooches I made a little while ago, using beveled glass, and I have since moved on to ornaments. I've made some family ones, which I will post as samples in my Etsy shop and on Ebay this week, probably Thursday, when hubby will be gone all day - he's on holiday which translates into getting NOTHING DONE LOL! My hope is that people will be able to email me a favourite picture and I will make any adjustments according to the size of ornament they want, and I can then make it into an heirloom ornament.

I have always LOVED photographs, both old and new. It's like a frozen bit ot time, especially when I look at the old ones of us as kids or my parents, when they were first married. It makes me sad that a lot of them are relegated to boxes of old pictures. I hope this will inspire people to dig out that old favourite photo and turn it into a keepsake, either simply or fancy, with glitter etc I've decided to mount information on the back of each ornament, so down the road, they people won't be forgotten. I'm working on a few garlands for our Xmas tree - one of our grandson and my hubby - they really have a special bond, and one of our grandson with a picture of him each year at his birthday. Eventually they will be his, and he will have lots of fond memories every year, when he puts them on a tree or mantel for Xmas. Okay, I confess, I'm a sentimental marshmallow.

I'm posting some pictures - I hope no one minds. I'd love to have some feedback. The first two are of my parents on their honeymoon in Wales, almost 70 years ago. The next two are what I consider the "before and after" shots for hubby and me. First one was taken 40 years ago, and the second was at Xmas last year. The next two are of my siblings and I as kids - I'm the wee one, and my favourite picture of me with a frog (I was such a tomboy). The last two are of my son, daughter and grandson & two small ones for our garland -a favourite pic of daughter, Sarah and grandson, Corson and one of Corson on his 2nd birthday. I hope you enjoy them.

How wonderful Brenda - I love your new project with your sentimental photos.
I especially loved the one of you and your frog - so sweet :love:
Such a great way to display them rather than stored in boxes, which so many photos are.

Thanks so much, Carolyn!   That frog photo and the one of us all, on the dock, really brings back memories for me, especially now that my oldest sister has passed away.  It was such a fun, innocent time.

Dearest Brenda, 
I did get your note with the pictures....thank you!  (I'm still trying to catch up from the weekend and now I'm suffering with a sinus thing.  Bleeck!)  I think what you're doing with the ornaments and brooches is fabulous!!  You go girl!!  What a terrific way to bring photos out of boxes and books and truly enjoy them.  It's like adding a bit of sparkle to a memory.  I think you know what I mean with the faceted glass and silver.    Simply beautiful!!

Thanks so much for the lovely feedback!  They don't have to just come out at Christmas time, either.  They look lovely in a grouping on the wall and the small ones can be worn on a chain as a pendant.  Everytime, I think I'm done, I think of another idea - poor teddies, they're no where to be found right now. 

Aleta, I'm sorry you're not feeling well - probably burning the candle at both ends too much!  I hope you feel better soon.
