I have just received this picture of Tristan taken at the wedding.
Yesterday he went for his 2nd swimming lesson- the first one was a disaster and left me very upset. My daughter then very conveniently made sure that Gran took him to the next one.
Hubby came with and was he upset- how they break your hearts when they cry. I calmed him down and then we started playing a game- throwing things to the old man in the pool who would throw them back to us. Slowly I started edging closer and closer to the pool withdrawing back every time he felt unsure.
Well after lots of playing I build up his confidence and we spent a good time in the pool playing and splashing. He even went up to his teacher and splashed her. I will continue with the playing till he feels confident to go to his teacher with me in the pool with him.
Tristan learning to swim has to be done and as early as possible. The highest rates of deaths with children in SA are drowning, burning and choking.
It is an indoor pool and it was amazing to watch the other babies swimming.Maybe gran will have classes to learn how to swim properly.

Hi Lynette, What a cute little lad Tristan is. He looks so happy in the picture. He looks so well after his rough start in life. I'm please to hear that he is being taught to swim. It is so important to teach children this skill and once they are confident in the water they can have so much fun.....and yes Lynette, gran should have lessons to learn how to swim properly.
you can't have little Tristian showing you up now can you.
Hugs Jane.
He is just gorgeous. It is certainly a very good idea to have him learning to swim. I think it is a wonderful skill for any child to have. It is much easier to learn when you are little. He will get his confidence in no time.
Just added the "fishes"
