Has anyone tried to make Tipped Mohair using fabric dyes?
Yes, use a paint brush and gently bush the ends of the pile. It works better with heat set dyes. Then you just rinse it out as usual. Dont let the dye penetrate, you want it to sit ontop of the pile. Dry with a hairdryer/heatgun and just keep doing this until you get the colour you desire.
I hope that helps? ..........

Wendy,
Thankyou so much.
I am trying to get through some of my Mohair stash.
And I keep buying more.
Is there a Rehab program for the likes of me?

If so, let me know where. I have the same problem!
I wash the fabric and have it dried in the tumbler, so that the pile is nicely up, before I start dying.
Than I use a dye that has the substance of yogurt: not to drippy, otherwise it will not only colour the tips but the rest as well, and we do not want that.
Because human hair is similar to mohair, you can also experiment with (permanent) haircolours......
Wear gloves!
