For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Hi guys,
The time is drawing near for the 1st Annual Softie Thanksgiving Day Parade that will be held on my blog starting Thanksgiving Day and going through the weekend (hopefully - we'll see how many participants we get). This is just a friendly reminder to have the photos of your entry to me no later than November 20th so I can work on the dimensions and start loading them in my Blog. I'm looking for anything you'd see at Macy's including floats, balloons, clowns, marching band members, Rockettes, Santa Claus, winter themed bears/friends/etc., fall themed bears/friends/etc./, spectators and commentators. There will be voting, awards and prizes! Please forward your photo to me at lbthoms@twincubs.com.
Anyway, if this all goes well, I'm planning on sponsoring an Easter Parade on my Blog as well complete with fancy hats, bunnies and chicks.
Here's the link to my original description of the parade on my Blog:
thanks for the kick in the pants Lisa, I knew there was something I was forgetting to do! will get photos off to you this week
Hugs,
Krista
Great Krista!
Oh and a big P.S. to all the participants...
The event has been advertised in Teddy Bear and Friends Magazine, Art Doll Quarterly (supposedly as I haven't seen it in print yet) and on Bear Artists Worldwide so I'm hoping for tons of exposure for our art!!!
I am interested in entering. Do I need to sign up or just send the pics? Or is it too late?
No, it's not too late. Participants have until November 20th to get the photos to me by E-mailing them to lbthoms@twincubs.com.
Looking forward to seeing yours!
OH CWAP!!!
Where is my magic wand?!! I need to whip something up...quick!!! This is probably just the motivation I needed to get my behind back into the studio!!
Hugs and hugs and hugs,
Aleta
Yes, Aleta, we can't have you sitting idle now can we??? LOL !!! No way! We love your work too much!!!
I can't WAIT to see all the entries!!! I have mine all drawn out and ready to work on
Mine's all drawn out too..... if I can stay out of a hospital long enough to get it made I'll be doing good! (This time it was MY turn in the ER!! I'm OK.... heart scare.... very irregular heart beat... seems my thyroid is going wacko.... time to have it out!)
Lisa... I got my ADQ at Barnes & Noble today.... didn't look for ad about the parade but will go do so!
Oh Daphne, sorry to hear about your ER visit. Hope you feel better soon. Scary for sure!!!
Biggest Hugs!
Lisa
Well, it turns out it was a good thing I got mine done early. Jury duty all week then hubby's knee surgery next week. I can't wait to see the parade!
Sent my pictures to you last night Lisa...you did get them right?
Hugs,
Krista
Yes, I did and they were just adorable!!! Thanks!!!
Still accepting photos until November 20th so anyone else who wants to join in has 11 more days!
Oh, I just made mine today!!! Not at ALL what I'd planned on making but a lot more fun. It got a chuckle out of hubby which is hard to do! Best part, it only took me ONE day! I can never make anything in one day!
Can we post a teaser picture, Lisa? Perhaps not show the whole creation, just enough to spark one's interest?
Sure, go for it Daphne! I'd love to see a sneak peek!!!
P.S. I finally found my Winter 2008 Art Doll Quarterly today and yes the Parade was the first item mentioned in the section they have for Calls and Challenges.
Only a week left and I'm getting some great things in!!! Looking forward to seeing more by November 20th!
"Sniff, sniff..... do I smell turkey?" asks this parade participant.... can ya guess who it is?
come on daphne!! stop teasing! where the rest of the story!?  deb
Ahhhh.... you'll just have to come to the parade!!!
(And no, it's not Rudolph!)
It's Rudolph! Huh, huh, am I right?
Marlys, see my post above yours!
Sorry! Guess again!
Is it a clown??? His nose looks red?
Darn! I should read more carefully.
Well.... Lisa..... No.... it's not a clown.
Need a hint?
Well if it's not Rudolph and it's not a clown (both with a red nose), then we'll need a hint!
