I know Catherine from Bumpkin Bears has made child safe bears before so she could probably help you.

I don't have any child safe bears at the time, but I have made them in the past and I do have the supplies to make them.  Actually, I have been given a chenille? bath robe to use for bears.  This robe is absolutely beautiful.  It is super, super soft and a pretty baby blue.  I have thought that I would make a baby bear or lamb with it.  My problem with this fabric will be giving it up.  I just want to hold it.  Super cuddly!

Hi, I've been away and just got back.  I have made a few childsafe bears before, with childsafe joints and safety eyes.  In fact I'm making one right now for my sister in law that is expecting their first baby any day now..

I have made several too for my grandchildern when they were babies or toddlers they still have them.Just remember to not put anything they can get into their mouth or twist in their little fingeres. stringed bows etc. You can use Very short pile mohair is fine or other soft baby material that does not have lint.  I have used cotten and mohair.or baby blanket material.Only use saftey joints or safety eyes and safety nose they snap in tight..or you can embroieder these in your sewing machine.or make a pattern that is all sewen together as a whole arms, legs, head and use soft polyfill. If you decide to dress it ,have it be part of its own body.  Their is a topic on Edingbury classroom on creating safety bears.  Taking in consideration Common Sense Do's and Don't  for a Baby will help you decide. No matter how pretty you want it to look for your precious little one. This classroom helped me alot when I first made them.Hope this helps.
