As many of you know, we lost our beloved Golly a few weeks ago and have since adopted another puppy. Otis is keeping me so busy, I scarcely have time to get anything else done much less dwell on my loss. He's been so good for all of us......and is spoiled already. Imagine that? Anyway, it's amazing how much they grow and change in just a couple of weeks. Already he is 5 lbs heavier and weighs 13 lbs at 7 weeks old......yes, he will be a big boy too!
Not as large as Golly was though as he is only half Mastiff......the other half is German Shepherd. He is beginning to get the longer, shaggier fur the Shepherds have at his chest and shoulders and down the front legs. I can't wait to see what he looks like grown......gorgeous!! And so smart, too. Believe it or not, he has been barking/whining at the door to go out to poo for the last week.......started this at 6 weeks of age! We were shocked and amazed.....and naturally think he is the smartest puppy on record!
Now if we can just get him doing this for the piddles. He is leaving most of his 'accidents' on the puppy training pads these days though......good puppy!
Anyway, here's pics:
This first one was taken a few days ago visiting my aunt at the activity center of the facility where she lives. Mary loved holding him......Otis was a little scared though of all the people and noises. Lots of socialization time is in his near future!
Here's more.....some taken outside playing in the snow and meeting the barn kitties. Also a few inside, all worn out from that playing in the snow. Oh, and Otis does look very serious about getting that kitty tail in the one photo......however, no kitties were harmed, only inspected thoroughly. Didn't help that the cat enjoyed every bit of the attention.
oh how cute!!! I think he is a handsome fella. What a good boy he is to let you know he wants to go outside. I am so glad you adopted him. It really does help to have a new furry in the house even if you are still grieving the loss of Golly. Keep posting pictures as he grows.
What a gorgeous boy, Tracy - he sure looks happy! All that love he's been soaking up sure shows. I'm so glad he has such a wonderful home and all the attention he can handle.
hugs,
Brenda
