If any of you TTers from OZ could give my daughter some titles of Australian movies/tv shows that you particularly like, she would appreciate it very much.  She loves PBS, art films, and British movies/shows to give you an idea of her taste.  She knows of and likes William McInnes and the "Sea Change" shows, but hasn't been able to watch very many.  Are they out on DVD?  Things Australian she would NOT care for are Mad Max and Crocodile Dundee type shows.  I will pass your suggestions on to her and many thanks in advance.

nor do australians
there is 'Always greener'  'Mcleods daughters' 'all saints' 'Blue heelers'
'Sea change' was always a favourite of mine and is out on DVD I cant think of anything else. My favourite at the moment is 'Are you smarter than a fifth grader?' which is a quiz show with Rove McManus.
Aussie telly has closed for the holidays. We wont get anything decent until next year.
We use to have some wonderful comedies like 'Mother and son' and 'Hey dad?" 'Mother and son' is out on DVD, well worth getting. Ruth Cracknell was absolutely brilliant.
Sorry Sueann thats about it from me.

LOL - Mother & Son (from the 70s) was a favorite of my Dad's. And ours!!!!
As a special present for him, an OZ friend bought the 3 CD/DVDs available, (9 half-hour shows?) and - after obtaining an authority cert from OZ TV, (forgotten the production company name) had them converted to American format. It was very  expensive!! Over $125 for transcribing 3 disks as a one-time thing!
Dad has a mild form of stroke-induced dementia and by the time we had this done, he'd lost interest. Or at least, lost the ability to follow a thread of thought.

It was nice to see the old series again, but unless one has the hardware to do this it's a pretty costly proposition.

Someone told me recently that it was worth a try to see if the originals would play right on our US-equipment. Unfortunately, I'd dispose of the originals by then...

Depending on her age, I used to love the British comedy "The Young Ones", when I was in my teens, that was a while ago!!!
"Mcleods Daughters", the aussie outback series is also really good as mentioned by Wendy, another serial that is popular is "Love My Way".
My husband is a real movie addict and has hundreds of DVD's, I am racking my brain at the moment for some aussie movies......"The Nugget", "Bangkok Hilton", "Gallipoli", boy, I'm really having a hard time, we've only got all the big budget American ones, maybe Google aussie films and see how you go, sorry I couldn't be more help.
Cheers
Kim
