Hi everyone,
Wanted to share this photo of my first attempts at dollmaking, the large one is completely made out of dolskin fabric and the smaller one has a rope/cord body. They were great fun to make but a challenge too - especially the clothes, the large one still doesn't have a proper outfit yet.
I drew the faces with watercolour pencils, and I think this is the part I enjoy most!
Hi Catherine, Your dolls are terrific. I can't believe they are your first attempt - well done. I love the faces and the colour of the larger girls hair. I don't think my faces would be any good - they would look like kindergarten faces!!!!
I love the big eyes and tiny features! Very sweet!
The red head is really striking and I luv the concept of a rope body on the little one.
I'm looking forward to seeing more Catherine.
Wendy
They both have a nice look to them!!Good job.
Thanks so much everyone for your comments, glad you like my dollies
Oh, thank you so much Bren, I'm glad you like my dolls The patterns for these dolls are my original designs, but I got some ideas out of books etc...and basically just used my bearmaking skills to fumble my way through.
I have two of Patti Culea's books which are great. I also did an online watercolor pencil face class with Sherry Goshon.
they have lovely faces, well done xxx
