anteater008-1.jpg.....Or anywhere else probably.  bear_grin

Finished this special request just in time for Christmas, an anteater complete with her best friend Anton the ant! Red ants don't taste very nice apparently which is why it's not been eaten. Mrs Anteater was made out of a combination of mohair, cashmere and lil bit of ultrasuede for the inner ears. She has glass eyes, an embroidered, waxed nose and fimo clay claws. I made Anton from Swarovski crystals and wire.

I hope you like them.  bear_original

WOW This is a wonderful design.  And you're right I have not seen another anteater anywhere.  Great job!  And little Anton is a wonderful addition!!

   That anteater is stupendous (if there is such a word) It is magnificent, what a great imagination to be able to create such a life like animal.
I really love it and the ant too!

Wow! Lisa
I wouldn't have known where to start with an anteater, Congratulations! Also, will you ever be creating ant pin jewelry? I'd buy one in a second

OMG Lisa, you HAVE to start working on a piece for the teddies or the tobys! Competitions won't be the same without these guys, you're sooo good at critters!

Thank you so much everyone, it's a relief to know that my design still looks anteater-ish. I originally intended to make something true to real life, standing on all fours, but her soon-to-be new owner has lots of these already so I decided to go for a fun version instead.

Ellen, I'm thrilled to hear that you're working on an anteater too. I can't wait to see how it looks, it will be awesome I just know it. Hmm, perhaps I should start saving up now. Did I say that I really LOVE anteaters too!!  bear_wub

Karen, I am so flattered that you like my lil ant so much. I do love working with wire and Swarovski crystals and it is my intention to have a go at making some jewelry with them in the future.  bear_original

Best wishes to all

That is totally awesome and so unique!  I have never seen an anteater before...way too cool!  And the ant is just beautiful as well although I am a bit worried for his safety - that anteater looks hungry!

Hugs,
Lisa

Hehe, thanks again ladies

Matilda, Aardvarks are related I think. They have bigger ears, a hairless tail and a pig-like snout.  bear_original

Anteaters are, IMHO, much, much cuter.  bear_grin
