Well, dear friends, we will be soon able to move in OUR house (in april).
We found a cheap house in a very small village (less than 400 inhabitants). We like its location.
It was really a good deal and I still cannot believe it.
It is ready to live in with no important work to do inside... What else could we expect????
This house is a little over one century old and sane.
On the first floor there is the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom. The main door in the street opens to the living room. The door in the back of the house opens to the kitchen.
On the second floor, there are two bedrooms and a little dressing with an access in the ceiling leading to the attic. We want to arrange the attic into a big extra room. The only thing is that we can stand properly only in the middle of the attic because of the roof.
There is a courtyard we access through a gate. In that courtyard there are two extra out houses : one, small, hosting an old bread oven in very good shape ; the other, which is bigger, hosting three pig homes that can make good storage space or workroom plus garage... Only the roof covering of these out houses will need to be refreshed. Under the roof of the pig homes, we can arrange some extra space too in the future (that space is running on top of the three pig homes).
We have no garden, just a small flower bed. This is not annoying for us, as for a beginning, we donnot need a garden.
So we are very happy...
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Good luck Sophie! It's always exciting to get your first house. That house looks strong and well built. How exciting for you both. With a lick of paint and adding your own touch I feel you both will feel really at home in your new house.
hugs, Jane.
Dear Sophie,
Congratulations my friend! I was so happy to hear that you are buying a house and what a cute house it is!
I love it.
Best wishes and I hope that April will soon come around so you will be able to move into your own house.
Hugs
Carolyn
That is just wonderful news for you and Malko. Congratulations and I'm sure you will love your new house.
Congratulations Sophie
It looks so lovely - what a great deal.
Wow!! Now that's a beautiful first home   I'm soooo happy for you Sophie!!!
Don't worry about the garden, if you'd like you can do raised beds in the courtyard later on Roll on April :bday:
What a super great house, Sophie!! 100 years old and it has such character - how lucky you are! Congratulations!
You must be bursting at the seams with excitment knowing that you will have so much more space! Do I see a teddy room in your future? The house is lovely! I love the look of it, I imagine spring flowers flowing from window boxes on the upper windows. So charming it is!
I remember the fun of my 1st house! I laid on the floor in the living room for about 2 hours after I bought because I was in such disbelief that I actually owned a home! over 10 years later I laid in that same spot and cried because I loved it so much! Be sure to take more pictures as you can, it will be great to look back at them over the years and we will all be waiting for updates in April!
I am so happy for you! Will you and Malko have to travel far for work? Are there lots of shops close? What is the town like? Is it far from where you are now?
New home hugs to you and Malko

So many questions, Duff!
Well, I may end up having some special space for my sewing. It will depend how we will manage to arrange everything. Houses looks bigger when they are empty...
Flowers beds on the windows can be nice, but we fear some accident if flower pots fall because of the wind.
The house is located in a very small village (a little over 320 inhabitans). This village has a funny name meaning Chapel with cabbages...
This village is 45 minutes far for our current flat if we take the highway. It is only 9 km far from the closest highway access.
There are no shops nearby and we need to drive 6 km for the closest ones (not that bad).
I will have a longer drive to go to work from my new home (between 45 min and 60 min). It is not a big problem, as I have no idea where I will be teaching next year.
For Malko, even though he will be closer to his working place, it will take as much time to reach it.
This village is in the countryside. There is a river a few hundreds meters far from our house.
This village is located in a beautiful area with troglodyte places.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Sounds wonderful! I must admit I had to look up "troglodyte" I think this is the correct meaning? "One of a group of people who built homes into the faces of cliffs, connected by underground passageways, such as in France or Tunisia."
Again, contratulations!

Congratulations my friend I am so happy for both you and Malko, I really love the look of the house Sophie and I am sure you will be very happy there.
congrats...I do love older homes. Our farm house was built around 1850 and I find it much more interesting than most modern homes.

Oh its lovely do you have any inside pictures?? I love it!! Congratulations.
Oh Sophie, how lovely, a new home for you both. It looks gorgeous, you are going to have so much fun getting bits and pieces for it and painting and decorating to make it your own. It sounds like a lovely tranquil location too. Well done.
