It's just four weeks to the Hugglets show in London and I just can seem to get anything done. I seem to be working all day but at the end of the day there's nothing to be happy with. Have any of you ever got like this.
I don't know what's up wiith me, I'm usually overflowing with bear ideas but everything I think up will take so long to finish and who wants to see a table with just one or two bears. I do have a new orangutan and a new chimp but as for bears I've only got three traditional bare bears sitting waiting to be finished.
Hugs,Jane.
Jane get off this computer and get sewing
I often end up with some days achieving nothing and it always ends up with more then one bear I don't like.I made a mini and messed that up yesterday so have to have another go today-it is so annoying as they take you so long to get a face done and then its not right.
I hopefully will be at Hugglets so I will see you there with many bears on your table
Laurie
Jane I have nothing actually finished...yet! I have a few half done but I reckon I'll get there. I'm not panicking....much!!!
Nothing here yet either ...
I'd say you are doing well.... 5 in various stages of completion already! WOW! I'd have maybe one!
Jane... maybe you need to give yourself a break... give yourself a day off... do other things you love.. in the process you might feel inspired.
Sometimes I clean my studio.... or not really clean but go riffling through my mohair stash, accessories, old magazines and bear making books, my old patterns... often something hits me that is a bit different and therefore exciting, I have fun with my new creation and it turns out well! The break from actually MAKING anything might be a whole 'day off' but then I consider what I'm doing 'research' so I'm not 'wasting' a day and in the end I'm more productive with a renewed enthusiam and vision.
I'm guessing that Hugglets and the date drawing near is also putting pressure on you that is snuffing your creativity. Try to forget the date, the days left, etc..... just pretend you are creating to create... nothing more!
If all else fails... eat chocolate!
Hope you get your 'groove' back real soon!
I agree with Daphne on this one. I find a lot of times taking a break away, and just sitting and looking at the world around can be very inspiring. Maybe I'll watch an old Western and think of Cowboy and Indian bears, or I'll see the flowers blooming outside and turn towards those themes There's always something about as a creative trigger.
I also find the days I push myself to 'finish those bears', it ends up a disaster
Oftentimes I push, push, push, and the darnest things happen to trash out the teddies I was working on.
Better to sit back and get a fresh breath of air...and yes, chocolate does help
Yes I agree .....take a day off and just relax, then start back fresh! You'll get there!
*kicks Jane in Butt* heehee. I don't know, what I always do before a show is pick 5 or 6 things that I know I can get done without a great amount of stress.. Work on those then, if I manage to get those done.. I will start something else. It's too easy to get overwhelmed before a show.
I agree though, take a day off and start fresh that sometimes helps
Bear Hugs!

Jane, I agree with the other gals. You need a break. Stress can hinder creativity. I know when I am uptight or overstressed I have a hard time letting the creative juices flow.
Take care of yourself first.
One butt kick coming from my way
Jane I am sure come the day you will be great
