Chrissie Baust at www.iloveteddies.com has been generous in featuring me as the artist of the month on her website which is just full of lots of great teddy stuff!!!

Click here to check out my interview and pictures!

Most of the photos will be familiar to many of you and some of the answers to the interview questions will be too... but I bet you don't know where I was born and raised..... or what my favorite part of bear making is! Stop by for a visit if you have a chance and check out all the other resources Chrissie's site has to offer both artists and collectors! Her site is fabulous and so is she!

Thanks Chrissie and thanks to all for having a peek at the interview!

Hi Daphne - slowcoach here, doing some catching up!
Great interview - I was particularly amused about the supposed connection between your Wheaten Terriers and your bear's faces.............when I started out a lot of people assumed that our (now departed ) Irish wolfhound was my particular "muse"!
Nice to be able to read more about you - and I'm another envious one - how lovely to be brought up in a mountain area!!!!!!!!!!
congratulations on the interview

Thanks for the compliments, everyone!

Maria - one of my dogs was bitten by an Irish Wolf Hound last week... so I'm having a hard time relating that face to any inspiration for a teddy bear... unless it was a viscious grizzly with teeth! bear_grin

The mountains are great... I lived by the ocean for a number of years and it was nice.... walks on the beach when it wasn't tourist season were great, and collecting beach glass.... but there is something about walking on the nice solid earth of a forest floor, seeing the views from high a top a mountain, seeing the ever changing foliage, flowers, etc. and suddenly spotting a lynx or bob cat or a bluebird.... hearing the cry of an owl, howl of a coyote..... just so cool! bear_thumb

Maria - he's fine.... drew blood from his nose is all. Tucker is a very energetic and "in your face" kind of dog and thinks all other dogs are his bestest buddies. This wolfie doesn't like hyper active male dogs and put my Tucker in his place real quick!

bear_shocked  Whoa, I bet he would!!!  What a wakeup call for Tucker.  Thankfully it was only a bloody nose.  I'm another who knows the breeds as very laid back and gentle.  LOL...although someone hyper in your face is enough to bring out the grouch in all of us  bear_whistle  Blow some gentle healing kisses towards Tucker's nose from me  bear_wub

Way cool interview Daphne!!!     Congratulations!!!

Thanks, Debbie. Remember the cancer scare and the mass that I found in his nose..... wolfie got that same nostril..... Tuck's poor nose is never going to have a chance to heal and be normal!!

I should tell you that this irish wolf hound spends his day at his owner's grooming shop.... so its essentially 'his' territory and with the dogs that go in and out all day I think his tollerance of the over exhuberant has diminished.

oh -poor Tucker........I'm glad it wasn't more serious!
Our daft Leonberger seems quite the opposite to this wolfie - she has so far been bitten THREE times on the nose by various small black dogs - just stupidly stands there while they fuss around her! Current bugbear is a four month old Manchester Terrier with a death wish - the owners seen to have realised that Nounours is a gentle soul and just stand there while their beloved runs yapping round and round and i have a devil of a time just hanging onto Nou's lead. never quite sure if she wants to play with her tormentor, or just LEAVE!

The Manchester Terrier has *no* clue how close it could be to death.   bear_rolleyes   Thank goodness your Nounours is a sweetheart  bear_wub

Oh Daphne!   bear_shocked   Poor Tucker!!!  To get nailed right where he's been having troubles already ~ double OUCH!  I wonder if he'll remember his nose exploded the next time he goes in?  I sure hope he can curtail some of his bounce, or at least keep a bigger space from the Wolfie.   bear_happy

Tuck is rarely tramautized by such incidents to make him cautious the next time around. After all the vet has done to him you'd think he'd refuse to go through the door when I bring him there. But no... he runs in there, tail wagging, full of kisses for the vet and the techs, bouncing all over. He's just nuts! But I love him to pieces!

bear_wub  Ya gotta admire and love an attitude like that!!   bear_wub   He certainly doesn't live in the past  bear_laugh

  bear_wub Great interview Daphne, I really liked hearing about your life among the bears and the shows.  I especially love your heart  foot pad on the bears, I wish I had thought of that since I am such a heart freak.
Mimzy was also a great thing to have accomplished.  I hope to get where you are bear wise in a few years.  If only!
