Amanda, I love England. A part of my heart will always be there. The last time I was there was in 1984. We visited my relatives ( they all live in England). We also went to see the house were my sister and I were born. It was a duplex in Spondon, Derbyshire. I just love the countryside and the rich history of England.
My mom (mum) is from Liverpool and my dad, Melton Mowbray. My mom went to the sister school where Paul McCartney went. My father was an Engineer for Rolls Royce and was recruited by Macdonald Douglass Aircraft so we immigrated in Oct 1965 to California. I was 7 months old.
My parents tell me that my sister and I had an English accent until we started school at age 5. I have another brother and sister who were born here in the States. Both of my parents still have an accent. I wish I did too.
